The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 246

Soon, the butler had a car ready and, at Jamie’s request, assigned two bodyguards to accompany them..

Suzie had the driver take her to the same mall as the day before. Not only did she not mind the bodyguards’ presence, she even bought them coffee, acting completely natural.

The two men felt like they had lucked into an easy assignment. While Suzie went into the stores, they waited outside, relaxed.

After browsing until she felt enough time had passed, Suzie spoke politely to the two bodyguards.

“I need to use the restroom. You can wait for me here.”

One of the bodyguards immediately replied, “Mrs. Baylor, Mr. Baylor instructed us not to let you out of our sight for a moment, especially in your delicate condition.”

Suzie was annoyed. So, Jamie really had told them to stick to her like glue.

Her voice turned cold. “Oh? Does that mean you intend to follow me into the ladies’ room?”

“No, no, of course not! We’ll just wait for you at the entrance. If you run into any trouble, just scream, and we’ll rush right in,” one of them said, waving his hands frantically.

Suzie arched an eyebrow but kept her tone casual. “Fine. Let’s go, then.”

She walked at an unhurried pace. Once inside the restroom, she headed straight for the stall at the very end.

She knocked three times, and the door immediately opened from the inside.

“Quick, get in,” Stella whispered.

As soon as Suzie slipped inside, the lock clicked shut behind her.

Outside the restroom entrance, the two bodyguards waited, bored. They glanced at each other.

Zane quickly added, “Yes, she’s not feeling well, and we’re worried something might have happened. Could you please check every stall for someone named Suzie?”

They quickly gave the woman a description of Suzie’s appearance and what she was wearing.

Hearing that the lady might be in trouble, the woman was happy to help.

She hurried back into the restroom and began knocking on each stall door, calling out the name.

A few moments later, she ran out, breathless.

“Sirs, there are dozens of stalls in there. I knocked on all of them. Some were empty, and the women in the others said their name wasn’t Suzie. Are you sure you’re at the right restroom? There are others on this floor.”

The two bodyguards exchanged a look of dread and immediately decided to report to Jamie.
