Suzie recognized Aaron's voice. She remained perfectly still, not bothering to turn around.

This wasn't a place for corporate business. If Aaron was here, he was likely accompanying Jamie.

Suzie listened quietly as Marcel explained the situation to Aaron. The manager was quite skilled at downplaying his faults, conveniently omitting the insulting comments made by his staff.

For a high-end restaurant to employ such unprofessional staff instantly ruined the luxurious ambiance for Suzie.

She turned around slowly, her tone glacial. "Marcel, was it?" Suzie shifted her gaze to the young waiter. "I was willing to let this go because he is young. But as it turns out, he made an honest mistake. Meanwhile, you and those two gossips over there are far worse than this young man could ever be."

As she spoke, she tilted her chin up slightly, meeting Marcel's gaze with unwavering composure.

Her expression remained neutral, yet she radiated the intimidating authority of a highly successful businesswoman.

Before the visibly embarrassed Marcel could form a reply, Aaron immediately offered a respectful bow.

"Mrs... Ms. Sterling. What a pleasant surprise. Are you dining here today?"

He had almost called her "Mrs. Baylor." Over the past few years, whenever he referred to her as "Ms. Sterling" in front of Jamie, his boss's expression would darken considerably. Because of that, he had changed his habit, consistently addressing her as "Mrs. Baylor."

Still, running into her here of all places was a massive coincidence.

Jamie was just outside taking a phone call and would be walking through those doors any second.

Suzie offered Aaron a polite nod before turning her sharp eyes back to Marcel.

"What's wrong? Do you always enjoy glossing over the ugly details, Marcel?"

Her gaze was unapologetically fierce. Back in her school days, despite the misery she endured at home, she had always been the type to stand up against injustice.

Whenever she saw something wrong, she never hesitated to fight for others.

Though they spoke quietly, the ever-observant Aaron could tell something was terribly wrong.

He stepped closer and intervened.

"Ms. Sterling, if there is an issue, please just let me know. I will handle it."

Before Suzie could respond, Marcel hastily interrupted.

"Aaron, it is nothing. Just a tiny misunderstanding. Do not worry, I will make sure Ms. Sterling receives the best service. I heard Mr. Baylor is arriving shortly? I already had a private dining room prepared for him this morning."

Marcel continued his sycophantic rambling, his peripheral vision catching Jamie as the man strode through the main entrance.

"Aaron, Mr. Baylor is here!" he announced, eagerly gesturing toward the door.
