The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 341

"Hi, I'm Suzie. I'm here to pick up the car."

Suzie walked up to the dealership reception desk and pointed at the sleek sports car parked outside.

The employee glanced in the direction she was pointing and offered a polite, practiced smile. "Ah, Ms. Sterling. Please, have a seat right over here. It'll just be a moment."

"Are there still a few forms left to sign?" she asked.

"Yes, ma'am. Since this is being handled by a proxy, we just need a few signatures. Please wait in the lounge for a few minutes."

Suzie nodded and headed over to the waiting area.

The moment she was out of earshot, the employee immediately dialed Chester's number. "Mr. Lambert, just as you requested. I'm calling to let you know Ms. Sterling just arrived."

"Keep her there. I'll be there in five minutes," Chester interrupted, hanging up the phone abruptly before the employee could even finish.

He said five minutes, but he practically sprinted through the dealership doors in three. He let out a heavy sigh of relief when he spotted Suzie still sitting in the lounge area from afar.

He quickly signed the necessary paperwork, grabbed the keys, and took long, confident strides toward her.

"Ms. Sterling, we meet again." Chester jingled the keys in his hand, greeting her with a cheerful grin.

Suzie slowly stood up. She had no idea why he was here, but she honestly didn't care enough to ask. She simply took the keys he offered and immediately turned toward the exit.

Seeing her leave, Chester hurried after her, his tone laced with anxiety. "Ms. Sterling, you didn't reply to any of my messages. I was really worried about your injuries."

Chester ran a hand through his hair, his brow furrowing. "I just have three questions. Did you get the flowers today? What exactly is your relationship with Jamie? And is the owner of this car your boyfriend?"

"None of your business," she snapped. Without hesitating, she swatted his hand off the door.

As she slid into the driver's seat, her mind raced. He really was the one who sent those flowers to her studio.

She had been in such a rush that day, she completely forgot the vehicle registration was under Hayden's name. The traffic cops definitely would have pulled those records when they intervened.

But why didn't he know about her history with Jamie? The fact that he was asking meant he had probably already told Jamie about running into her. Yet, judging by his questions, it seemed Jamie had kept him entirely in the dark.

"Ms. Sterling, why are you being so cold? What's wrong with just being friends?" Chester asked, gripping the edge of the open car door.
