"Mia, I need you to sort through all these files by the end of the day," Suzie instructed, her tone brisk but gentle. "Then, spend tomorrow handling the handover for all the projects involving Timefly Studio."
Mia stared at the thick stack of documents on the desk. She flipped through a few pages, her brows knitting in confusion. "Suzie, what is this for? It sounds like you're..."
"Yes, it's exactly what you're thinking. I'm leaving Timefly Studio," Suzie said, cutting her off softly.
Mia swallowed hard, a deep worry flashing in her eyes. She looked back down at the project transfer forms and gasped. "Suzie... what are you doing? You're handing over every single project back to the studio? You're even giving up your cut of the profits?!"
"Yes. My photography skills might have landed these deals, but everything I have today is because of Timefly Studio. It's because of Hayden," Suzie replied calmly.
Her response was completely at peace. If she hadn't met Hayden Wycliffe years ago, no matter how talented she was behind the camera, she wouldn't be where she was today. He was the one who had given her a chance. He was the one who had entered her into prestigious competitions, allowing her to sweep awards across the industry.
Because of him, she had built a reputation. Her clients were now exclusively the wealthy and elite, and her rates were astronomical. In this industry, that kind of prestige was worth its weight in gold.
Pulling out a chair across from the desk, Mia sat down heavily. "I've been here. I've watched you grow. Your success isn't just because of Mr. Wycliffe or the studio. Timefly gave you a platform, sure, but you've brought in an insane amount of money for them!"
Mia waved the papers in the air. "Yes, Mr. Wycliffe has been wonderful to you personally. But professionally? He's objective. He gives you the exact same resources he gives every other photographer here. Yet, how many of them have achieved what you have? You earned this!"
"Mia..." Suzie murmured, rubbing her temples.
