Nadia's face darkened a bit. She rubbed the tablecloth, remaining silent for a moment before carefully asking, "You and Mr. Wycliffe divorced?"
"Yes," Suzie answered frankly.
Nadia nodded. "No wonder recently it's either your nanny or yourself picking up and dropping off the kids."
She sighed and continued, "I'm not as young as you, nor do I have your looks. Myron and I worked hard to build the company from scratch with our savings. Now... it's all gone. How is my poor child supposed to live in the future?"
With that, Nadia began to cry miserably.
Suzie didn't interrupt her, though she casually tossed her a tissue.
When Nadia finished crying, Suzie spoke calmly, "What are your conditions? Just say it. I'm quite busy with work, and I believe you have a lot of things to deal with too."
Nadia wiped away her last tears and said hoarsely, "Let... let me see your necklace first."
Without a word, Suzie took it off and handed it to her.
Nadia rubbed the necklace repeatedly, muttering to herself, "That's right, it's the necklace from my memory."
She handed the necklace back to Suzie, her expression serious. "If you think about how Margaret treated you, you'll know why. So, what I want to tell you is the truth about your birth. And my condition..."
Nadia paused and said directly, "I can drop the charges against Jamie, but I want a huge compensation. Can you make that decision?"
