Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 24

Clara was left speechless, unsure of what else to say. She thanked Toby once more and got out of the car.

The biting wind hit her instantly.

She shrank into herself from the cold and began to limp slowly forward.

She didn't notice the car window behind her quietly rolling down, nor the man's piercing gaze locked onto her back, scorching with intensity.

Dominic watched her frail silhouette, his thumb instinctively rubbing over a pale ring-shaped scar on his left ring finger.

When she was seventeen, the girl had stood on her tiptoes, wrapping her soft arms warmly around his neck.

Her sweet, playful voice still echoed in his ears.

"Dominic, when I start making money and become a great designer, I'm going to design a unique ring just for you! And I'll use the most precious materials!"

"Dominic, let's get married right after college."

"Dominic..."

But unfortunately, the year she graduated, she abandoned him and left this world.

Dominic snapped his eyes shut, pressing his thumb hard against the scar.

His voice came out hoarse.

"Let's go."

He thought he must be going mad with longing.

His Sarah was radiant, kind-hearted... absolutely one of a kind.

She loved him deeply and would never hide anything from him.

How could Clara possibly be her?

...

Sensing his boss's turbulent mood, Toby didn't dare say much and drove away.

But he couldn't help sighing internally.

After all these years, the boss still hadn't moved on from Sarah's death.

Now that he had finally met a girl who looked exactly like her, things had to be like this...

Sigh!

If only Clara really was Sarah!

Remembering something, Toby checked the rearview mirror and asked hesitantly, "Then for future collaborations with Manager Vance, will you still handle them personally? And about Ms. Vance's identity... should we still investigate?"

"I didn't get to finish earlier. Since Ms. Vance has been kept a secret as Julian's girlfriend, digging into her background might take a little time... At the earliest, we'll have something by tomorrow or the day after."

"Also... the day after tomorrow, are you still planning to return to Somerset as scheduled?"

Hearing this, Dominic's expression grew even darker. His thumb agitatedly rubbed the pale mark on his ring finger again.

Once she was bandaged up, Clara got up to handle her own admission process, knowing it would be too difficult to manage alone at night.

The doctor advised, "Sweetheart, you really should call your family or your boyfriend. Being here like this is just too inconvenient..." And too heartbreaking.

Clara smiled faintly, offered a polite excuse, and left.

Outside, the numbing cold had masked a lot of the pain, but now that she was in the warmth of the hospital, the throbbing flared up with a vengeance.

Clara could only walk a few steps before having to stop and catch her breath.

"Julian, how are you even more meticulous than my mom?"

Suddenly, a girl's cheerful voice drifted from ahead.

Clara's body went completely rigid.

Looking up, she saw two figures standing almost pressed together.

Julian held a medical report in one hand, while his other lean arm rested around the girl's slender waist, supporting her in a gesture of extreme intimacy.

Hearing the girl, he looked down at her, his dark eyes brimming with tender concern.

"It's better to be careful."

Clara's face instantly drained of color. Her ankle suddenly felt a hundred times more agonizing. When her gaze drifted upwards and she realized they had just walked out of The Maternity Ward, her heart violently skipped a beat!

The Maternity Ward!
