He couldn't even describe why, but he simply couldn't stand the sight of Dominic near her!
To Clara, however, those words felt like the ultimate humiliation.
Just because of a momentary flare of temper, she was supposed to endure all this injustice?
And did he really believe they had reached this breaking point just because of today?
A chilling lump formed in Clara's throat as she pushed against him.
"Julian, let me go! I truly regret ever being with you!"
Julian's handsome face instantly turned pale.
But then he thought, he wasn't looking for love when he kept her around anyway!
If she didn't love him, fine!
If she regretted it, so be it!
As long as her body remained with him, that was all that mattered!
With that thought, a bold, dark impulse surged in his mind.
He pulled her closer, his strong hand pressing firmly against her slender back, while his lips sought hers.
Realizing his intentions, Clara felt a rush of anger and shame. She shook her head, dodging his kiss, and slapped his shoulder forcefully.
"Julian, you bastard! Stop treating me like this..."
But the difference in their physical strength was undeniable.
Annoyed by her resistance, Julian frowned. With one hand, he easily trapped her by gently grasping the back of her neck.
"Clara, you can't leave... you can't leave," he muttered obsessively, lowering his head for a forceful kiss, driven by pure impulse.
When couples fought, they usually resolved it in bed.
He wanted to fix things that way.
Tears of humiliation welled up in Clara's eyes. Seeing that he wouldn't let go, she raised a trembling hand and slapped him hard across the face. "Jerk, let me go!"
Smack.
"We're even now. Leave! Go find your Seraphina. She's so submissive, she definitely won't make you feel uncomfortable!"
Julian narrowed his eyes, finding her words inexplicably grating.
He pinched her chin, his gaze dropping to her soft lips as a cold smirk tugged at his mouth.
"You really have grown up, haven't you? That mouth is certainly sharper! I remember three years ago, when we first got together, you spoke so softly you sounded like a kitten..."
The reminder of the past felt utterly degrading. Clara violently yanked her head away, pointing a trembling finger toward the door. "People change! Get out! And never come back!"
People change, huh?
Julian let out a cold snort. He cupped her face once again, ignoring her gasp, and leaned in until his lips brushed hers, speaking in a dangerously seductive tone.
"Then I'll just have to taste you even more thoroughly to see exactly how much you've matured."
The implication was deeply erotic.
As a woman, Clara knew he wasn't just talking about tasting her lips, but taking her completely!
