Julian chuckled, rewarding her with another kiss. "That's amazing. Looks like my girlfriend is about to do some big things! Go get 'em."
In reality, he didn't expect her to achieve anything at all. In his mind, she was better off just staying at home.
Unaware of his true thoughts, Clara was thrilled by his encouragement.
Wrapping her arms around him, she excitedly launched into the concepts and inspiration she had brainstormed over the past few days. "Beverly told me the client loves water elements, so I was thinking..."
"What do you think?"
Julian offered a disinterested nod, his dark eyes fixated on her beautiful red lips. Seeing she was about to keep talking, he pressed his thumb against the corner of her mouth and murmured, "Aren't you thirsty after talking so much?"
Clara paused, blinking. "No, I'm not thirsty."
Julian's eyes darkened with lust. He leaned down, capturing the lips he had been obsessing over. He still hadn't fully tasted her yet. "Well, I'm thirsty. Let me have a taste."
Clara's face instantly burned red, and she awkwardly turned her head away to dodge him.
"W-wait... let's go to the bedroom. Susan is still downstairs."
Julian chuckled, flicking her delicate nose as he teased her for being so shy, then scooped her up and carried her into the master bedroom.
The moment they were inside, he didn't waste a second pinning her to the mattress.
Her face flushed and ears burning, Clara squeezed her eyes shut.
Julian tipped her chin up and leaned in to kiss her.
Just then, a fuzzy little head popped up over the edge of the bed, followed by a second, and a third, all meowing loudly at him.
Julian froze. Staring at the three kittens that had just hopped onto the bed, his expression instantly darkened, his brows knitting in disgust.
"Why did you bring the cats upstairs?"
Pushing himself slightly off Clara, he demanded, trying to keep his temper in check.
Clara, still blushing, looked thoroughly confused. "Don't you like them?"
