Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 218

At a café downtown.

Yvette glanced at the incoming call from Nova and knew exactly why she was ringing.

Right in front of Caspian Caldwell, she answered the phone and even put it on speaker.

Nova paused for a second, her tone entirely professional. "I'm looking at the workflow rejection on your end. Your team simply needs to execute the parameters our side provided."

To put it bluntly, EverGrand Tech was acting as the downstream supplier on this project—the contractor to CN Dynamics' client.

Stephen Zimmerman had laid out the terms: Nova's side provided the core technology and structural logic, and Yvette's team just had to follow their blueprint.

It wasn't a downstream contractor's place to reject the upstream logic and try to teach the client how to do their job.

A flash of disgust crossed Yvette's eyes. "Nova, we reviewed the processes you sent over. But out of a sense of rigorous responsibility, I rejected them. This has nothing to do with personal grudges, so I hope you don't misunderstand."

Nova felt even more baffled.

She had made herself perfectly clear. Yvette was the contractor; she just needed to follow the client's—meaning Nova's—blueprint.

Bringing up "personal grudges" made it sound like Nova was just picking fights for no reason.

Yvette continued, "Mr. Zimmerman is a very important client of ours too. He's currently abroad and can't mediate. If you want to push this project forward, I need you to transfer the raw algorithmic models to us. I'll run them myself, and if I decide they're viable, then I'll proceed. Otherwise, if we blindly follow your workflow, we won't produce a viable product. We won't be able to deliver, and we'll just be wasting each other's time."

As if afraid Nova would refuse, she quickly added, "I'm already recording this conversation. Don't worry, I don't play petty games behind people's backs. You don't have to assume I'm mixing personal issues with business. As long as you provide the proof of concept, I'll issue the directives immediately."

Nova frowned.
