Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 224

Hearing this, Yvette's expression instantly soured.

Nova was a woman who slept her way to the top, seduced men left and right, and had absolutely zero real talent. Being compared to her on equal footing made Yvette think the Professor was completely out of his mind.

But on second thought, Yvette realized something.

Perhaps Nova had bewitched Samuel, who then sang her praises in private, confusing the Professor.

This was all Nova's manipulative fault. She couldn't blame Professor Mathew for being deceived.

Thinking of this, Yvette looked at Tristan beside her.

Tristan shook Professor Mathew's hand before stating flatly, "There is no comparison."

Those simple words filled Yvette with a deep sense of satisfaction.

Of course Nova couldn't be compared to her!

With Tristan backing her up so firmly, Yvette smiled sweetly and added,

"I know Nova, but we don't work in the same field. Professor, since you're here today, please feel free to assess my capabilities."

In her words, she completely dismissed Nova as a viable competitor.

Professor Mathew found it laughable. He nodded curtly. "Then let's begin. I hope your abilities won't let down Mr. Forrester, considering how many strings he's pulled to set this stage for you."

Tristan offered a faint smile. He patted Yvette's shoulder, signaling her not to be nervous, then turned to Professor Mathew. "I'll step out."

Professor Mathew said expressionlessly, "Aren't you two a deeply-in-love engaged couple? Is there really a need to step out? What, are you worried Mr. Forrester is going to steal your research, Ms. Sellers? Or does Mr. Forrester not yet have your full trust?"

Yvette quickly explained, "This is just Tristan showing his respect for the process. I don't want you to think I'm using his influence to achieve my goals. Today's meeting is purely about the work, and I'll accept whatever the outcome is. Please feel free to critique me honestly, Professor."

Professor Mathew found it absolutely ridiculous.

If this wasn't using someone's influence, what was? She was happily riding his coattails while simultaneously trying to brand herself as an independent woman. Could she be any more hypocritical?

Tristan nodded and left the room with his assistant.
