Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs
Chapter 183 I Really Like Him
Shaws, each scratch cutting into the wood
Deep grooves were carved into the tree bark beneath the massive like it had been ripped open.
“Roar!” the white tiger rumbled again, a deep warning
wl rolling out as his pale fangs flashed/
The lynx shook like a leaf. His fluffy fur bristled all over, back tightly arched as he tried to look dangerous, teeth bared while he spat out a shaky “Hiss.”
Hubert suddenly froze mid–motion.
Well, this lynx is kind of adorable. I could totally take him home as a pet.
The lynx kept baring his teeth, still putting on a fierce act. “Hiss!”
“Ha-” The white tiger lifted a paw and slammed it onto the branch the lynx was clinging to, rattling it violently.
“Awoo!” The lynx panicked, wrapping himself tightly around the branch and screaming toward the black panthers below.
Rather than get torn apart and eaten, Zachary stared down at the ground, even seriously considering just letting go and ending it with a fall.
Then, in the next instant, a dark figure shot across the snowy
field.
“Roar!”
A sharp, familiar roar hit Zachary’s ears. He snapped his head up immediately, tears welling with relief and
excitement.
Matthew’s here! He came for me!
“Awoo!” Zachary answered back at the top of his lungs.
On the other side, Horace sensed something had gone wrong and rushed over as well.
Therians in beast form were far larger than normal animals. Because of that, tribes usually avoided each other on purpose, sticking to an unspoken rule–no fighting unless absolutely necessary.
Even personal conflicts rarely escalated to involving entire tribes.
For predator tribes like theirs, a serious fight would only leave both sides badly injured.
And in winter, any injury that prevented hunting could spell disaster for the sub–therians and cubs back
home.
Horace immediately recognized the Black Panther Tribe member and shifted into human form to speak.
Standing beneath the tree, he asked calmly, “What’s going on?”
Matthew didn’t even look at him. He let out a low, threatening growl, clearly ready to climb up and tear that

tiger apart.
Horace frowned, confused by the intensity. “Wait… was it because
the prey
spotted first?”
That was the only explanation he could come up
with.
Beside him. Yael had already shifted and blurted out.” “That lynx is his mate! Wouldn’t you lose your mind if your own mate was about to be hunted down?”
“A sub–therian?” Horace blinked in surprise. “Why is he out here while he’s still in his beast–form cycle?
Above them, Matthew and Hubert were already locked in combat, the chaos making Zachary’s heart race
with fear.
Yael snapped. “Get your stupid brother down from there
now!
“Unless you want to be the one crying over his corpse in a minute.”
Black panthers were smaller than white tigers, but Matthew fought like a storm–fast, precise, and vicious. He’d even taken down two tigers before, surviving severe injuries and earning a brutal reputation.
Horace’s voice turned sharp. “Hubert! Get down here!
“That lynx is a sub–therian!”
Hubert froze for a split second–just enough for Matthew to sink his teeth into his shoulder.
He hissed in pain and staggered.
Down on the ground, Hubert shifted back into human form, gripping his bleeding shoulder while staring fixedly at the lynx in Matthew’s arms.
The lynx was completely terrified now, curled tightly against Matthew’s chest, face buried as if trying to disappear.
Ever since Hubert first saw Zachary, he hadn’t been able to get him out of his mind. He’d even thought about going to the Black Panther Tribe to find him.
When Horace found out, he’d already slapped some sense into him.
He never expected their next encounter would look like this.
Hubert stepped forward, voice sincere. “I’m sorry. I scared you. I didn’t realize it was you.”
Zachary paused. That voice felt strangely familiar.
He was about to turn his head when Matthew immediately covered his face, shielding him completely.
Still curious, Zachary licked Matthew’s wrist and peeked out again anyway.
It’s that white tiger from before… What was his name again? Zachary couldn’t quite recall.
Seeing him peek over. Hubert’s eyes lit up instantly. “You… you remember me, don’t you?”

“He doesn’t,” Matthew cut in flatly.
Hubert tried to step closer, but Zachary immediately shrank back into Matthew’s arms again.
Horace sighed under his breath–this idiot really couldn’t let go of someone else’s mate.
Matthew gently patted Zachary’s back. “It’s okay. Don’t be scared.”
Finished.
“Don’t be scared of me. I won’t hurt you,” Hubert said quickly, alinost pleading.
Yael scoffed. “Then what were you doing up there? Sightseeing? Tree climbing for fun?”
Hubert kept his eyes on Zachary. “I’m sorry. I can

to you. I can bring you beast/hides.
Matthew’s expression darkened. “Why don’t you just give him your own tiger hide while you’re at it?”
Hubert sputtered, “I—”
“Enough. We’re leaving!” Horace snapped, barely holding back his temper.
Yael added casually, “Next time, your brother might end up as someone’s coat.
Even after they left the area, Hubert kept staring back like he couldn’t move on.
Horace finally lost it and smacked the back of his head. “Are you seriously still obsessing over someone else’s mate?”
Hubert looked wronged. “I really like him…”
“So what?” Horace shot back. “He doesn’t like you.”
“If I try harder, he will,” Hubert insisted.
Horace let out a cold laugh. “Keep dreaming. At this rate, you’ll be the one worn as a pelt instead.”
“Horace…”
“Let’s go back to the tribe now!”
Despite everything, this trip turned out to be pretty rewarding, and everyone was in a fairly good mood.
