Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs
Chapter 201 A Hearty Meal
Finished
“You forgot?” Zachary suddenly wanted to scare him a little, so he wiped the smile off his face and looked completely solemn.
Matthew stopped eating at once. “I’m sorry.”
He had no idea what he was apologizing for, but saying sorry first had become his safest survival instinct. The sight of him looking so guilty, as if he were seriously reviewing his sins, made Zachary laugh. He picked out a nice piece of meat and dropped it into Matthew’s bowl. “You asked for broth fondue before you left, remember?”
Only then did Matthew’s tense expression ease. He smiled faintly. “It tastes great.”
wanted
Jaden had completely fallen for the tomato fish slices. He finished five slices in a row and still wanted more, but the broth fondue was also too good, and his stomach was already close to giving up.
But it’s so tasty. Sire really is the best person in the whole world, he thought.
The three of them gathered around the steaming pot, eating while they talked.
Matthew and Jaden were both quiet, so Zachary naturally carried most of the conversation. But whenever he talked about the world he came from, both of them listened with serious attention and occasionally asked something.
Zachary was happy to explain. He talked about whatever came to mind-food, clothing, ordinary routines, customs, and little bits of daily life.
That meal stretched on for a long time.
Since the temperature had dropped, Jaden had been sleeping with Zachary. Because of that, he had started looking forward to bedtime. Zachary always told him strange and wonderful stories, and Jaden remembered every one of them carefully.
Sometimes, while they were still trying to lull Jaden to sleep, Matthew would be the one who fell asleep first.
But the snow kept coming. It fell for days without stopping, heavier each time, and the cold seemed to press deeper into the forest. Animals became harder and harder to find, and even the traps often turned up with nothing.
The tribe’s stored food began to shrink. At the same time, more people fell sick.
Bruce had been brewing medicine almost every day. His back had not fully recovered, and with the constant work, the old pain began to flare again.
“Eat first.” Donald set some pie in front of Bruce. “I’ll watch the medicine.”
“Okay.” Bruce nodded, but the moment he tried to get up, he paused. His hand moved instinctively to his lower back.

Donald quickly stepped over to support him. “Does it hurt again?”
“It’s fine.” Bruce shook his head and made his way to the table. “Did Zachary send more pies?”
Donald said, “I made them.”
“You?” Bruce looked genuinely surprised.
“Zachary prepared the filling.”
Finished
“They look pretty good.” Bruce picked one up and tasted it. “Not bad. Can you make more for me? I’ll freeze some outside.”
Donald said, “Why?”
Bruce sighed softly. “That way, when you start hiding from me again, I’ll still have something to eat.”/
Donald said, “Okay.”
Bruce looked up at once. “So you really were planning to hide from me again?”
Donald had not expected that trap. For a moment, he did not know what to say, so he stayed silent.
Bruce put down his eating sticks and pushed the bowl away, looking as though it physically hurt him to do so. “You eat them. I’m not hungry.”
Then he tried to leave. As soon as he stood, his brows tightened, and he drew in a sharp breath, looking painfully miserable.
“Don’t move. Sit and eat first.” Donald gently pressed him back into his seat. “I’m not hiding from you.”
Bruce gave a quiet snort. “So you admit you were hiding before.”
Donald did not know how to respond.
Bruce said, “That day, I didn’t even say anything. You got what you wanted, and then-mm!”
“Eat.” Donald grabbed a slice of pie and stuffed it into Bruce’s mouth. “Just eat first…”
IF
Bruce still wanted to argue, but the pie tasted too good. After a few bites, his attention quietly wandered
away.
Bruce said, “Don’t burn the medicine.”
Donald said, “What?”
Bruce swallowed. “I said, don’t let the medicine burn!”
“Oh. Right!” Donald hurried over to check the pot.
Before they could even finish eating, several more therians arrived outside the cave. Their mates or cubs had fallen ill.
With snow piling deep and the cold cutting so hard, by the time Bruce finished checking everyone and

giving out medicine, the sky had nearly gone dark.
Finished
When they finally returned, there was still no time to rest. The people who had received medicine earlier were already coming back for their next dose.
By the time Bruce finally sat down, he looked utterly drained. His back hurt so much that even a light touch was unbearable.
“I’ll help you lie down for a while. I’ll call you when the food is ready.”
Donald stayed close to him. He had seen how hard Bruce had pushed himself all day.
“Feeling bad for me?” Bruce used the last of his energy to tease him.
Usually, this wooden block barely reacted to anything. But this time, Donald actually answered, “Yeah.”
Bruce was so surprised that he asked again, “You really feel bad for me?”
Donald said, “Yeah.”
Bruce crooked a finger at him.
Donald leaned closer.
Bruce lifted his face and kissed him directly.
Donald’s eyes widened. “You-”
Bruce pushed his luck with a grin. “Since you feel bad for me, letting me kiss you once isn’t too much, right?”
Donald’s face flushed bright red, and he immediately began stumbling over his words. “Bruce, y-you…”
“Ow, my back!” Bruce suddenly clutched his lower back. “It hurts so much!”
Donald forgot everything else in an instant. He carefully carried Bruce to the bed, settled him down, and then fled in a panic. “I’ll go cook!”
Bruce laughed quietly to himself. Donald was far too easy to handle right now. He had to take the chance and keep pushing.
When Zachary woke the next morning, Jaden, for once, was still asleep. The little black panther had curled himself into a small dark ball and was burrowed deep in Zachary’s arms.
Zachary did not wake him. Sleeping in during winter was perfectly reasonable.
Matthew was outside clearing the snow, so Zachary got up and began making breakfast.
He chose two fish with especially tender flesh and steamed them.
This kind of fish barely had any muddy smell. After a quick marinade, Zachary added wild onion, ginger, and chili pepper, steamed it until just cooked, then finished it with a light sauce.
