Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs novel Chapter 241

Chapter 241 Protein on a Stick

Finished

After cutting off a piece for each of the three cubs, Zachary sliced up two more plates for the red panda tribe and the vulture tribe.

Little Baldy had already stuffed himself with snacks earlier, and now he was getting smoked meat on top of that. His entire understanding of food had been completely turned upside down.

At this point, not only Jaden and Taylor, but even the entire Black Panther Tribe felt like some kind of magical existence to him.

The therian from the red panda tribe and the vulture tribe had completely forgotten about their own stalls by now. After tasting the smoked meat, they casually turned away and sucked the leftover juices off their fingers, still craving more.

Even though Taylor got spoiled by Zachary all the time and had tasted all kinds of amazing food before, he still remembered what it felt like trying smoked meat for the very first time.

He understood exactly how Little Baldy felt while gnawing on the smoked meat in front of him. Thoughtfully, he even filled up a bamboo tube with water so the cub could slow down and eat without choking.

Food in this world was seriously tempting to therians, especially smoked meat. The rich aroma, the glossy color, those huge chunks piled together, nobody could walk past it without stopping to stare, let alone a bunch of therians who had been busy all day without eating.

Yael and Daniel were squatting in the back corner with grease all over their mouths while they devoured piece after piece. Just as they were about to grab another chunk, Matthew walked over and clamped a hand around the backs of their necks. Stop eating.”

Yael immediately tried to struggle free. Since when are people not allowed to eat? You’re seriously evil.”

Daniel sighed dramatically. Our stomachs are still empty, you know.

Matthew tightened his grip. If you two keep eating until you’re full, is there even going to be anything left in the pot?

One bite. Just one last bite.Daniel wriggled toward the pot while shamelessly defending their behavior. You don’t get it. If they see us eating like this, they’re definitely gonna come over.

Yael nodded right away. Yeah. It’s called strategy.

Matthew dragged both of them back without another word, then followed Zachary’s instructions and chopped up a few plates of smaller smoked meat pieces to hand out as samples for customers.

When Yael, Daniel, and Ethan saw that, they immediately volunteered for the job. They weaved through the crowd in circles, introducing the food as they walked.

Smell that. Good, right?

And if it smells good, it tastes even better.Yael tossed a piece into his own mouth and chewed happily. The meat soaked up all the juices. It’s soft as hell.

Daniel was even worse. Every time a custorner sampled one piece, he’d shove three into his own mouth. Ethan was slightly better, though he still snuck bites whenever nobody was looking.

The crowd in front of the stall kept growing. After tasting the smoked meat, everyone rushed to trade for it. The last batch of smoked meat was almost gone in seconds.

Zachary and Quincy immediately got to work on a second pot without slowing down, while those who missed out just stood nearby, waiting with eager eyes.

Night slowly settled in, and the evening breeze pushed away the warmth of the afternoon. Along the river, one bonfire after another was lit.

Zachary rubbed his hands together and was about to warm up by the fire when Matthew walked over with a jacket in his hand. It was the same one Zachary had turned down earlier in the morning for the sake of looking good.

After helping him put it on, Matthew sat down beside him and took both of his hands, tucking them into his own coat to keep them warm. Are you hungry?

Zachary narrowed his eyes and leaned lazily against him. I ate too many fruits. I’m a bit full.

I’ll massage your stomach.” Matthew slipped his hand in and started rubbing gently but steadily.

Zachary’s face was buried in the fluffy collar, and he looked completely at ease. He told Matthew, Lean your head down a little.

Matthew lowered his head and leaned closer. What/is it?

Not bad at all.Zachary brushed against the tip of his nose and quickly kissed him. That’s your reward.”

The corner of Matthew’s mouth lifted slightly, and he wrapped an arm around him a little tighter.

Most of the stall’s goods had already been sold out, and the smoked meat still needed a bit more time to cook. With everyone finally free for the moment, Zachary asked Matthew to walk around with him.

The two of them strolled along the river,

Zachary stopped in front of a stall. He did not expect to find artisans like this in Beastworld. The wooden carvings of little figures and beasts were surprisingly detailed and lifelike.

The stall owner was an old male with deep wrinkles etched across his face. He was holding a bone knife and carefully shaving a piece of wood bit by bit.

Zachary picked out a few pieces, and Matthew paid with meat. Then they continued walking.

Nearby, there were also food stalls run by Black Crow tribe’s therians, grilling their specialty: all kinds of insects. The insects came in white, black, yellow, and more. They were strung together densely on skewers, and some were still wriggling alive beside them.

The most popular one was a plump insect about the size of a thrumb. Once grilled, its surface turned a golden brown, and the people eating it looked like they were really enjoying it.

One of the Black Crow therians brought over a plate made of leaves and said the fat bugtasted really good, warmly inviting them to try it.

Zachary was not afraid of insects, but he was not at the point of eating them either. After politely declining, the Black Crow therian turned and offered the grilled insects to Matthew instead.

The moment the Black Crow therian stepped closer, Matthew quickly took two steps back. His expression still looked fairly calm, though, and he shook his head. No, thank you.”

Zachary caught it immediately. After they walked a bit farther away, he asked Matthew if he was afraid of insects.
