Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs

Chapter 25 Morning in the Cave

Zachary slept through the whole night without any dreams.

When he woke up, birds were already chirping outside. Ever since he came to this world, his daily routine had become much more regular.

The morning air was cool. He stayed in bed for a while, then slowly got up.

Matthew and Jaden were getting ready to make breakfast.

Zachary saw them and quickly walked over. I’ll do it. I’ll do it.”

It wasn’t because he loved doing housework. He simply couldn’t get used to the localscooking,

Zachary liked experimenting with food, but he hated washing dishes. Matthew and Jaden, on the other hand, didn’t mind cleaning pots and bowls. Their habits worked well together.

The quacking beast was still tied up with vines. It had already gone limp and looked miserable. Zachary planned to keep it for dinner and either stew it or roast it, so he didn’t let Jaden kill it yet.

Breakfast was still fried meat.

As someone with the soul of a modern person, Zachary really wasn’t used to eating like this.

He thought about steaming a couple of apples for himself. There was no steamer here, so he dropped them straight into a pot of boiling water.

Zachary suddenly missed the days when he could eat buns, steamed bread, and bowls of rice. Ever since he arrived here, he had barely eaten any staple foods. Every meal had been nothing but meat.

There was a large flat rock at the entrance of the cave. Zachary had used it yesterday to dry some things in the sun. When he stepped outside today, he noticed several more rocks had appeared beside it at some point.

Matthew was teaching Jaden some hunting techniques.

The little black leopard pressed his belly to the ground, bent his legs, and arched his back. He practiced seriously and focused on every move.

Suddenly, footsteps came from outside the cave.

Zachary thought Quincy and the others had arrived early. He leaned out to take a look, but he quickly realized the visitors were two unfamiliar subtherians.

Before Zachary could pull his gaze back, the slightly older subtherian walked straight toward him.

I heard you fell into the water. How are you now? Do you feel better?Harper looked worried as he reached out and grabbed Zachary’s hand.

The sudden closeness caught Zachary off guard. He blinked and looked confused.

Who are you?

Harper frowned. Zachary, what’s wrong with you?

Zachary felt uncomfortable. He pulled his hand back and looked toward Matthew and Jaden.

The father and son stood still. They stared at the two subtherians in front of Zachary.

Matthew’s face looked dark, and his gaze carried a cold edge. Jaden kept a straight face, and his eyes were full of caution.

Harper asked anxiously, I’m your father! Zachary, what’s wrong with you?

Father?Zachary finally understood. These people were the original owner’s family.

Still, the concern felt a little late. If he hadn’t transmigrated into this body, the original Zachary would have already been dead.

The other subtherian stepped forward. He looked young and goodlooking. His eyes moved over Zachary as he studied him.

What’s wrong with you?

Zachary stared at him. He guessed this was Wesley, the one Quincy and the others had mentioned.

I hit my head when I fell into the water. I don’t remember you now.Zachary used the same excuse again.

Harper quickly said, I’m your father, and this is your younger brother. We’re family.

The words made Zachary feel uncomfortable. It sounded like Harper was worried Zachary might deny their relationship.

As for Wesley, the way he stared at Zachary made him uneasy.

Matthew remained silent the entire time.

Jaden pressed his lips together and kept glancing at Zachary.

Blood ties couldn’t be denied. Zachary had no choice but to nod and stand there, forced to accept this sudden family bond.

Seeing that, Harper relaxed. A smile returned to his face.

He casually sat down on the stone stool in the cave. His eyes soon landed on the entrance to the storage area, and his face lit up with excitement.

Zachary, you have so much food here! There are so many red fruits and so much meat. Can you even finish all this?

Wesley looked at the pile of fruit on the ground and blurted out, Who did you ask for this?

Zachary felt a little annoyed, but he held back his emotions.

I gathered it myself. Didn’t you go pick up the meat the tribe handed out yesterday?

Wesley looked surprised by Zachary’s tone and answer.

Good thing you became mates with Matthew.Harper sighed after speaking. Not everyone can get as much food as Matthew.”

My leg isn’t good. I can’t bring back much food. The tribe only gives out a limited amount of food each time.

He sighed again.

Your brother and I can only gather some fruit and wild vegetables most days.”

Even someone as slow as Zachary could hear the meaning behind Harper’s words.

He couldn’t help wondering if these people were really his family.

Harper had already said this much. However, Zachary still said nothing. A trace of dissatisfaction finally appeared in Harper’s eyes.

The original Zachary had never acted like this. In the past, he didn’t even need to come here. Zachary would send things over early on his own.

As Harper spoke, he noticed several beast hides on the wooden rack in the cave. Out of habit, he said, Zachary, the weather is getting cold. Let me take these hides back so I can make some clothes for myself and your brother.

Zachary looked at the two family membersin front of him.

One looked cold and proud.

The other kept speaking with concern, yet every sentence circled back to food and beasthides.

Zachary smiled calmly. At the same time, he quietly shifted his body to block Harper’s line of sight.

Yes, the weather is getting cold.Zachary said while pretending not to understand. Matthew and Jaden don’t have many clothes either. I was just planning to use these hides to make clothes for them.
