Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs
Chapter 274 A Basket of Comfort
As expected, the cubs enjoyed the specially made food.
The rain outside had stopped for the moment. What remained was a gray, damp world and a chill wind that slipped through every gap.
Zachary packed the dishes into a basket. He was almost at the cave entrance when Matthew’s earlier reminder surfaced in his mind. He turned back, picked up a coat, and only then headed out.
By the time he reached Elias‘ cave, the entrance was half open. Zachary lifted his hand and knocked against the side.
Kyle’s voice came from inside at once. “Zachary, you’re here!”
The basket had grown heavier during the walk. Zachary passed it to Kyle as soon as he stepped close. “I made a few things for Elias. Maybe he can eat some of them.”
Kyle had spent the whole day worrying because Elias could barely keep anything down. The moment he heard those words, his expression brightened with visible relief. He quickly moved aside. “Come in.”
Zachary walked into the cave and noticed Quincy was there

Quincy was comforting him with quict patience. Concern still lingered between his brows. When he saw Zachary, he patted Elias lightly. “Zachary came to see you.”

Zachary went to the bedside and softened his voice. “Elias, are you still feeling awful?”
Elias raised his head. Once he saw Zachary, his eyes filled with tears again. He stretched both arms toward him. “Zachary…”
Zachary leaned down and hugged him. “Is your stomach still upset?”
Elias nodded, looking wronged and exhausted. “I’m starving, yet the moment I smell food. I want to vomit.”
Zachary gently rub his head. “I brought you something lighter. Try a little first. You don’t have to force

small nod. “Alright. Thank you, Zachary.”
Kyle had already taken the dishes out of the basket. The cave did not fill with the usual heavy smell of roasted meat. Instead, a fresh scent of lemon, fruit, and warm sweetness drifted out, light enough not to feel overwhelming.
Zachary poured a bowl of red bean milk and handed it to Elias. “It is still wartti. Drink a little first.”
Elias was nervous, so he only took a tiny sip at first. The taste reached his tongue, and his eyes immediately grew brighter. His next mouthful was much larger.”
After that, he tried a piece of sweet–and–sour pineapple pork. The tangy sweetness covered the richness of

the meat, leaving none of the greasy heaviness that made him feel sick.
“This tastes so good!
“This one is good too!” Elias picked up some chilled shredded chicken tossed with lemon, chili, and herbs. The sour, fresh flavor suited his restless stomach perfectly. “Zachary, how can you cook so well?
Kyle watched Elias eat several bites of meat without gagging once. The breath he had been holding all day finally eased out of him.
Elias set down his eating sticks, caught Zachary with one hand, and grabbed Quincy with the other. “Stay with me and eat.”
There was plenty of food, so Zachary and Quincy agreed with a smile. After all, they knew that mealtime was about more than just the food itself. A bustling table could spark a renewed hunger.
Kyle quickly brought out more bowls and utensils.
While he arranged everything, he silently made a decision. I have to learn them. As long as Elias can eat a little more, no amount of trouble matters.
Outside, the rain suddenly grew heavy again.
The evening sky turned darker. Thick clouds rolled across the sky, pushed along by strong winds. Farther out, the trees in the forest bent and swayed under the force of the weather.
At home, Jaden rose onto his toes and took the water–resistant wool cloaks from the wooden rack. He looked toward Taylor. “Let’s bring Sire and the others home.”
Taylor had been crouching near the entrance, chin in both hands, staring at the puddles with a gloomy face. He jumped up immediately. “Let’s go!”
The two cubs put on their small cloaks first. Then each of them carried a larger cloak and hurried out into the rain toward Elias‘ cave.
Cold wind struck their faces. As soon as Taylor opened his mouth, rainwater rushed in. He spat several times, looking pitiful. “Jaden, I can’t open my eyes.”
Jaden reached out and tugged Taylor’s hood lower. “Lower your head while
you
walk.”
Taylor looked troubled. “Then I won’t see the path.”
Jaden moved closer to his side. “I will watch it for you.”
Taylor relaxed at once. “Then I’ll follow you.”
Soon, a knock sounded at the entrance of Elias‘ cave,
Kyle went to look. The moment he saw the two cubs outside, he quickly brought them in and brushed the rain from their cloaks. “Why did you come here in this weather?”
Taylor pulled the larger cloaks from his arms and held them out. “Jaden and I came to take Sire and the others home.”

Zachary and Quincy looked over at the same time. Seeing the two little figures soaked from the rain, they were both surprised and deeply touched.
Elías brought clean beast–hide towels over. Taylor and Jaden stood obediently in place while Zachary wiped the rain from their faces and hair.
Zachary held Jaden’s hand for a moment. “Are you cold?”
Jaden shook his head. “Sire, I’m not cold.”
Their shoes were wet through.
Kyle took them away and propped them on sticks near the fire to dry.
Elias looked at the shoes, then carefully moved them a little farther from the flames, afraid they might fall in and burn.
Jaden and Taylor sat barefoot on the soft beast–hide mats. In front of them were fruits, nuts, fried meat, and jerky that Kyle had prepared.
Taylor’s attention soon drifted to Elias‘ belly. His lashes moved gently, and he called in a soft voice, “Baby brother.”
Elias smiled until his eyes curved. He lightly poked his belly through his clothes. “Your big brother is calling you. You should greet him.”
Taylor leaned closer to Elias‘ belly. “Hello, baby brother. I’m your big brother.”
Then he pointed at Jaden. “He is your big brother, too.”
Jaden cooperated calmly. “Hello, baby brother.”
A small movement came from inside Elias‘ belly. Elias paused, then smiled with surprise. “I think he heard
you.”
Kyle immediately looked proud. “Of course he did. He is my cub.”
The sky was getting darker, so Zachary and Quincy prepared to leave with Taylor and Jaden. The rain was still pouring, so they each picked up their cubs and tucked them/safely beneath their cloaks.
Jaden leaned against Zachary’s shoulder and lowered his voice. “Sire, I’m heavy. I can walk by myself.”
