Chapter 280
Finally, with a delicious smile she shattered. Yelt it, the way her cunt clamped down around me, fluttering and clenching, the way her whole body seized and shuddered, and the sight of her coming, undone in the mirror, face contorted, mouth open in a silent scream, pushed me over the edge with her. I buried myself to the hilt, my hips grinding against her ass, and came inside her with a groan that tore itself out of my chest, my cum flooding, her hot and thick, spilling down her thighs as she milked me with every pulse of her climax.
When it was over, we collapsed onto the bed in a tangle of sweat and spent heat. I lay on my back, staring at the ceiling, feeling better than I did earlier. The anger had burned itself out, and what remained was a pleasant, bone-deep satisfaction. She lay beside me, propped on her elbow, watching me with those hungry eyes, her fingers tracing idle patterns on my chest.
After a while, I got up, pulled on my pants, and lit a cigarette. The smoke curled toward the ceiling in a lazy ribbon, and I let the silence stretch between us like a wire pulled taut, watching her watch me through the haze.
“I have a proposition for you,” I said at last, and let the words hang there.

She sat up straighter, the sheet sliding down to her navel, her fingers stilling on the coverlet. “What kind of proposition?”
I exhaled a long stream of smoke and watched it drift before I answered. “I will solve all the problems you and your girls have. Big Bryan. The poison in their veins. The clock counting down inside their bodies. All of it. I will make those problems disappear, Scarlett, the way I have made other problems disappear for other people. That is my word, and my word is a thing I never break.”
Her eyes had gone wide and wary, the way an animal’s eyes go when it smells bait on the air. “And in return?”
“In return, you will enter into a contract marriage with me. For one year.”
The words landed like a stone dropped into still water. She stared at me, her lips parted, her breath caught somewhere in her throat, and for a long moment I thought she had stopped breathing altogether. Then she blinked, and a sound came out of her that was half laugh and half disbelief.
She flinched at that, a small twitch at the corner of her jaw, but she did not look away. “And when it ends?”
“When the year is up, the contract will be annulled. Quietly, cleanly, no fuss, no scandal. I will give you enough money to take care of yourself and your girls for the rest of your lives, and you can move to whatever country or city you please, and live your lives however you see fit. You will never have to look over your shoulder again. Big Bryan will be a memory, the poison will be gone from your girls’ blood, and you will be free of every chain that has ever held you.”
She stared at me for a long moment, her lips parted, her mind clearly racing behind those hungry eyes. I could see the calculation happening, the scales tipping one way and then the other, the arithmetic of a woman who had spent her whole life bargaining for survival. A year of her life, a year of playing a part, in exchange for everything she had been chasing for years. If that was the truth.

The readers' comments on the novel: Two Can Play (Celeste and Dominic)
Agent Frost better teach Tasha how to protect herself if anything gets out of hand or if she’s ever in danger or forced again...
I need some good news for Tasha. Special Agent hear her out and don’t let her get back into that life. Do I hear a romance or someone Tasha can truly count on besides Scarlett??...
I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
More Chapters Please...
I thought it said 10 chapters a day??? It’s been like 2-3 days and no update after chapter 574. The release time is so inconsistent, I have started to just loose interest....
Just find Tasha and get her some help. How did she have sparrow’s men watching her if she really cared so much. Scarlett’s character is so suspect…...
Storyline is interesting it’s just so much sexual content I have to skip through just find out the main context of the story....
