Two Can Play (Celeste and Dominic) novel Chapter 626

"Got it."

I turned to leave, and his voice followed me. "And when you're done, you come back here and answer to me before you leave for the day."

"Understood." I gritted my teeth and walked out.

As I left, tears filled my eyes, but I held them back. I stopped a cab and gave the driver the name of the hotel on the card and the address.

When I arrived, I looked up at the building. It wasn't grand, but it wasn't simple either. It was a moderate hotel, the kind that saw a lot of quiet traffic and asked no questions.

I stood outside for a long moment, staring at it. I didn't know who I was about to meet. All I could do was pray this person wasn't a monster. I looked at the room number on the card, walked into the hotel, went to the reception, and asked for the room. The receptionist directed me, and I took the elevator up to Room 103.

At the door, I knocked.

A deep voice came from inside. "Come in."

I walked in, my nails digging into my palms, my teeth gritted, my whole body shaking as I tried to give myself courage. The door shut behind me, and there was no one else in the room except the person who had opened it.

I turned to face him, and I froze.

I didn't realize when I sucked in a breath. He was the most handsome man I had ever seen. Tall, ripped, his arms looked like he spent his life in a gym. He wore a black shirt and black jeans, and his hair was wet, like he had just showered.

How could a man this handsome be involved in a dirty scheme like this? He could easily get a girlfriend. Why would he pay for this?

I stood there quietly, and he just stared at me, until he finally asked, "Are you going to get to work, or are you going to stand there and stare at me?"

I swallowed. "Sorry, sir."
