The fireworks still crackled across the sky when Kingsley rose from the sand, the ring glowing in his hand. My voice carried on the wind.
"Yes! Yes, I'll marry you, Kingsley. Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you."
His arms were around me before I finished the word, holding me so tight I felt his heart hammer against mine. I cried into his shoulder. His hand cradled the back of my head until the shaking stopped.
He pulled back just enough to take my hand, and the ring slid onto my finger, fitting as though it had been waiting for me. I looked at it, then at him. "It's beautiful."
His thumb brushed over the stone. "Of course. A beautiful ring for the beautiful woman it was made for."
"I'm so touched by your proposal, Kingsley." My voice cracked. "This is a dream come true. A memory that will stay with me for as long as I live."
"Every single second was worth it." His voice went soft. "Just to see this look on your face."
"How did you know?" I searched his face. "Everything is perfect, down to the tiniest detail. How did you know exactly what I wanted?"
He smiled, a little sheepish. "I wanted to make this really special for you. I hoped it would show you, more than words ever could, the position you hold in my heart. So yes, I recruited the help of a little birdie."
I already knew who it was. It had to have been one of two people and it couldn't be Seraphine. Only God knew where that one was.
"Bless the little birdie's heart."
He nodded. "I agree."

I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...
