Let him get the shock of his life.
When it was time for lunch, Dominic refused to hear a word about restaurants.
"I'm cooking for you," he announced, shrugging out of his jacket as we walked into the house. "One of your favorites. Non-negotiable."
"You don't have to..."
"I want to. Sit. Look pretty. Touch nothing."
"You're so bossy for a man in an apron."
"This apron is doing a lot of heavy lifting for this family."
He chased me out of the kitchen, and I surrendered and sat at the counter with a glass of wine, watching him work. Jacket off, sleeves of his white shirt folded up over his forearms, veins shifting along his arms every time he lifted the pan. It had to be illegal for a man to look that good and still be so perfect. There should have been a permit. An inspection. Something.
The smell hit me before the plating did, garlic and butter and that specific spice blend he guarded like state secrets, and my stomach audibly growled.
I got up, crossed the kitchen, and wrapped my arms around him from behind, pressing my cheek between his shoulder blades.
"This is absolutely at the top of my favorite dishes," I murmured. "The aroma is making me salivate. It's driving me crazy. Thank you for being the best man in the world."
He turned in my arms and kissed my forehead. "I'm glad you like it. But sit down, because I have to tell you something, and it isn't pleasant."
I pulled back, suddenly worried. "What is it?"
"I got the arrest warrant ready for Julian." He slid the pan off the heat. "But Julian has vanished. Last night, after the officers left, he pressured the doctor into discharging him, and he's been in hiding since. There's a manhunt underway. He'll be caught. No matter what happens, no matter where he runs, he won't be able to hide for long."

I hope Tasha is let off and helped by this detective and gets away from all this maybe a twist for this novel is she gets on the good side of things and gets away from that life completely even if she has to separate herself from Scarlett but it appears Tasha gets hurt by Scarlett’s and sparrow’s stupidity as she’s blamed for Scarlett’s decisions...
Her life is ruined and Scarlett’s been living a luxurious life through it all...
I officially hate everyone for hurting Tasha and allowing things to happen to her. This whole Sparrow and Scarlett situation is some BS....
It’s a bit stupid that as powerful and ruthless sparrow is he and Scarlett sure do a lousy job of protecting and having guard on Tasha. Like how did all of this happen to her if he was supposed to be protecting her based on the contract??...

Storyline is interesting it’s just so much sexual content I have to skip through just find out the main context of the story....
