Two Times the Charm (Clara and Emmett) novel Chapter 123

"You're not getting any younger, you know. It's about time you started thinking about tying the knot."

If she could see Elio walking down the aisle, she would feel more at ease.

At least she wouldn't feel as guilty as I do now.

"So you've just sorted out your love life, and now you're fussing over mine? I'm still young. I want to enjoy the single life a bit longer."

"You can't treat love so flippantly! Elio, karma will come back to bite you. The women you've taken for granted might end up being the ones you can't live without. Be careful, you might fall head over heels in love, and she won't give a damn about you!"

Elio looked helpless, "Clara, you're such a cold-hearted woman! Can't you say something nice for once!?"

"I'm just giving you friendly advice."

"I think you're cursing me!"

Clara sighed, "Fine, I'm off to cook. Look at Alex; let me know if he wakes up."

"Yeah!"

...

As the night fell, Emmett had finished his work. It was already 10 in the evening.

He had just got up from his chair, ready to give Clara a call, when his phone rang.

Looking down, it was Aiden calling!

Honestly, he had spoken more to Aiden privately in this short time than in all the past years combined! He suddenly found this feeling quite lovely!

He began to understand the beauty of family.

"Dad."

Aiden's voice came through the phone, sounding a bit down.

"Yeah, what's up?"

"Absolutely," Emmett replied without hesitation.

After all, that woman wasn't going to marry anyone else!

"That's good! I don't want another mom; I want her!" Aiden paused, "Today, I overheard Grandma saying she wants to find a suitable wife for you, so I called you."

"Don't take Grandma's words to heart. From now on, your only mom is Clara, don't overthink it! We'll be home soon, and we're bringing a little brother for you this time."

Emmett hesitated for a moment but decided to break the news to Aiden.

He would find out sooner or later; he might as well tell him now and see his reaction.

"A little brother? Is it the one Grandma mentioned who looks a lot like me?"

"Yes, that would be him."

"Oh! That's great; I'll have a buddy!"
