Two Times the Charm (Clara and Emmett) novel Chapter 124

Emmett couldn't get a read on his attitude from his words, so he asked directly, "You want this little brother, right?"

"If I say I don't want him, will dad not bring him home?"

"Aiden, he's your brother and my son."

Aiden laughed, "Dad, I never said I didn't like my little brother! You don't need to persuade me; I've already said as long as mom is here, I'm game for more little brothers! I'd be even happier if mom and dad could pop out a little sister."

Emmett thought about having more children with Clara, a small smile playing on his lips, "Hmm, good to know you're thinking that way!"

"So, when am I getting a sister?"

"Soon, I guess."

He was looking forward to it too.

After chatting with Aiden for a while, Emmett texted Elio.

[Bring the kid over tomorrow morning.]

That night, Elio and Clara couldn't catch a wink, nor could Emmett.

Even though he had seen the kid before, this was his first face-to-face with his son!

In the morning, the sun peeked through the curtain, bringing warmth to the room.

After getting up and freshening up, Emmett sat in the living room reviewing Ricardo's documents.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang—

He looked up and said quietly, "Door's unlocked."; the door was pushed open.

It was Elio and a young boy!

Emmett paused, stood up from the sofa, and approached Alex. His towering 6'3'' frame still seemed dominating even when bending down, "Does your mom always leave you with others?"

Alex blinked, unsure of what to say.

Because he didn't know how to answer this question, Mom and Mr. Milburn didn't tell him what to say!

"No, she has to work to raise a child, doesn't she? Leah Calloway loves her son very much; it's just that she and her child both need to eat."

"I didn't ask you."

Alex stood there, his tiny hands tightly clenched together, corners of his mouth turned down, "No, I see mom every day."

"Does your mom treat you well?"

"Hmm, she treats me very well!"
