"Have it your way! Or we could consider living separately."
Clara pondered for a moment, "Let me ask the kids first! See if they are okay with us living apart."
"Alright." Emmett stroked her hair, "Let’s eat first; the kids are waiting for you."
"Okay."
The waiter served up the new dishes in the dining room, and Alex and Aiden came over.
"Mom!"
"Oh, have you guys eaten already?" Clara patted their little heads.
"We ate!" Alex smiled, "Aiden had breakfast with me this morning."
"Did you sleep well last night?"
Alex nodded, "I slept very well! I slept with Aiden."
Clara was somewhat surprised, "Don’t you guys sleep separately?"
Emmett also raised an eyebrow, "Since when have you started sleeping together?"
Aiden helplessly raised his hand, "He said he was scared and insisted on sleeping with me."
Hearing this, Alex felt embarrassed and mumbled in rebuttal, "I'm not that scared; I'm mainly afraid that monsters will eat my brother! I pretended to be scared so that I could protect my brother!"
Clara immediately understood what was happening, but she didn’t say anything because Emmett was present.
She also worried Alex would say something inappropriate, so she quickly changed the subject, "So, did you guys eat a lot for breakfast?"
"I drank several cups of milk!" Alex began to speak like a bit of chatterbox, "I had toast and jam! Grandma gave me a piece of candy after the meal and gave me Aiden’s share too!"
"You can't overeat candy; it's bad for your teeth." Clara didn’t lose her temper since Emmett was present.
"It's nothing." Emmett smiled, "You eat first; I'll make a call and be right back."
"Okay."
Emmett stood up, and strode into the study.
As soon as the door closed, Ricardo's call came in.
"Mr. Melendez, she's still waiting for you at the company; she says she wants to see you when you're free."
"Let her wait; I'll be there shortly."
"Alright." Ricardo thought momentarily, then said, "Should I bring Leah Calloway to your restroom then? I'm concerned about the other employees seeing her. If they start spreading this around and it finally gets to Clara's ears, it'd not be good if she misunderstood. Women always overthink."
Emmett took a deep breath, "Yeah, it's best if Clara doesn't find out about this; I don't want her overthinking."
