"So should I go check on him? See if he's had any dealings with the Quintin family recently?"

"Nah." Emmett waved his hand, showing that he didn't want anything more to do with the Atwood family.

As long as Taylor kept his nose clean and didn't make a move on Clara, the two families could coexist peacefully.

"Got it, Mr. Melendez! I'll get on it now."

Just as Ricardo was about to turn and leave, Emmett suddenly spoke up, "Is Clara in the office?"

"No, I just went to look for her, she's not there. But I didn't ask, she might be in the restroom, or out delivering documents."

"When you see her, tell her to come see me. I looked at her blueprints yesterday, they're pretty good, but there are a few changes needed. I think we can use her design for the new building."

Ricardo nodded, "Alright, I'll let her know to bring her blueprints when she comes to see you."

"Good, go on with what you were doing."

"Yes, Mr. Melendez."

Clara pulled up to the hotel where Leah was staying. As soon as she walked in, she saw Leah curled up in a corner, tears in her eyes.

Being a woman herself, seeing this made her heart soften.

"What's wrong?"

"I...I feel so useless..." Leah covered her face with her hands, "I like him so much, why can't he just give me a little love?"

Clara sighed, walked over and stroked her head, "It'll pass. Crying will only make you look worse. Leah, don’t let a man change your thoughts to yourself."

Hearing this, Leah blinked in surprise, then laughed, "Clara, you're the best."
