"I'm just doing physical work!"
"I see Emmett is very interested in you! Your development in the Melendez Group will definitely be very promising."
Ricardo scratched his nose and laughed, "You got that right! Mr. Melendez treats me well, I work a lot because he trusts me."
Clara arched an eyebrow at him, "We both gotta keep our noses to the grindstone! I gotta bounce."
"Sure thing."
Clara pushed open the office door and dove right into her work without even taking a water break.
If it wasn't for Emmett personally checking in, she probably wouldn't have stopped all morning.
"You're so focusing on your work, you put me, the boss, to shame."
Hearing Emmett's voice, Clara was taken aback, "What, what brings you here?"
"I'm the boss, why wouldn't I be here?" Emmett walked over, glanced at her blueprint, "You've drawn up a new draft."
Clara shook her head.
Emmett took her hand and held it tightly, "If your blueprint didn't meet my standards, didn't wow me, I wouldn't have used it! Even to make you happy, I could've used it on a less important project. I let you handle such a big project because I trust you, I believe in your blueprint! Don't stress yourself out, it makes me feel like I've burdened you by assigning you this blueprint."
Clara quickly said, "No! I'm not stressed! I'm actually very excited! Emmett, I don't want to just be an ornament by your side, always being called an ornament, I want to be able to live on my own!"
"I understand." That's why he was willing to cultivate her, willing to make her the main designer this time.
"Thank you for trusting me so much." Clara looked up, meeting his gaze, "Really, I'm so happy! I feel like my life has meaning now! It's not like before, when it was all routine and mundane, just living to make ends meet."
