Of course, Badman Calloway would pull off something like this.
"Alright, let's not think about these things today. Come on, let's go shopping, consider it a treat from me for your hard work in the company."
"You can't say no to this treat. The company's always been pretty clear with rewards and punishments."
Feeling cornered, Clara had no choice but to agree, "Fine, but I'm just going to take a look. I'm not planning to get a new car."
"We'll cross that bridge when we get there."
As Emmett was pulling Clara to head out, her phone pinged with a new message. It was a text from Elio.
Emmett caught the sound of the text notification, he asked her, "Someone hitting you up?"
"Oh, probably just spam, don't mind it." Clara quickly glanced at it, deleted the message, and then walked out with Emmett.
Emmett had some doubts, but he bit his tongue and didn't ask.
At a coffee shop, Taylor ordered a cup of coffee, settling by the window to enjoy it slowly.
Watching the hustle and bustle outside, his mind was filled with Clara.
Before he left, he asked the doctor if there was any way to speed up his memory recovery, but the answer was no. Everything just had to take its course.
That answer left him feeling a bit bummed. After all, if his memory doesn't come back within a year, he'd really miss her.
"Excuse me, are you Mr. Atwood?" Suddenly, a female voice sounded beside him.
Taylor looked up to see a woman in a light blue dress. It was Leah.
