After wrapping up her work, she hastily grabbed her bag and booked it to their agreed meeting spot.
Upon arrival, she spotted Leah's ride parked outside, with Leah just making her exit.
"Clara!" Leah hollered at her with a warm welcome.
Clara gave an awkward chuckle before strolling over. "Sorry to drag you away from your hectic work schedule to hang out with me," she apologized.
"Don't sweat it!" Leah dismissed with a wave of her hand. "I honestly see you as my own sister! If you're feeling low, it's only right for me to be by your side. I haven't forgotten that solid you did for me."
Seeing Leah's generosity and grace, Clara couldn't help but question if she was being overly sensitive.
"Let's head inside and chat," Leah suggested, leading Clara into the café. She ordered Clara's favorite coffee as soon as they sat down. "I remember you like this one."
"Thanks, it's sweet of you to remember my favorite."
"It's just a habit from my work! I deal with many people, and if you can't remember these small details, it's hard to win them over," Leah admitted, sighing, "Making a buck these days is no walk in the park. All this running around I do, it's just to keep the company afloat! You're so lucky to have Emmett as your rock. I wish I could find my own rock soon."
"You're amazing. You’ll find someone for sure," Clara reassured.
"Enough about me! What's got you down in the dumps? Spill the beans."
