Two Times the Charm (Clara and Emmett) novel Chapter 304

Clara let out a sigh, "Being a CEO is no walk in the park!"

"Of course, there's a ton of stuff to deal with every single day!"

She sat down, glancing at her design draft, "If you're not busy, I'm gonna go chat with the design director about this."

"Oh, no worries, I'm good. You go ahead."

Ricardo watched Clara leave, then quickly ducked into a corner to shoot a message to the CEO.

[Boss, chill. Clara didn't react to Taylor at all. She doesn't seem to give a damn about it.]

A few seconds later, Emmett replied with a simple okay.

Meanwhile, in the conference room, Emmett looked at the message from his secretary and cracked a smile, causing the shareholders in the room to breathe a sigh of relief.

After all, a smiling CEO usually meant no major issues. If he was all serious, then they might be in for some trouble.

Once Leah got back to the office, the first thing she did was call for Elio.

After a while...

Elio slowly pushed open her office door, "What's up?"

"It's about Clara, of course. She came to see me earlier. Looks like my plan might need to be moved up. Any news on your end? If not...I might have to start playing matchmaker with her and Taylor."

Elio gritted his teeth, clenching his fists. If the person in front of him wasn't a woman, he would've punched her already.

Leah, of course, noticed his anger, but she wasn't bothered.

Because he wouldn't dare to lay a hand on her now!

"Honestly, I still don't get what you guys see in Clara... She's average-looking and has average skills. At best, she's kind-hearted. But what's the use of that in this world?"

"You wouldn't understand, you sneaky woman!"

Leah shrugged, "I don't bother trying to understand. We're all living in this world, chasing after our own dreams. Maybe Clara's dream is to... live a guilt-free life while I'm after fame, wealth, and powerful men. He has to be the top dog!"
