"I came all the way here just to look for you! Clara said she needed to meet a friend. Is that friend you?"

Elio paused, then shook his head. "No, didn't I tell you I'm swamped today? There's no way I could meet up with her. Besides, there's nothing left to talk about between us. You two are married now; I’ve gotta keep my distance to avoid stirring up trouble."
