"I don't give a hoot about what others think of me; all I know is, I have to find Clara! Until I hear her say she's into someone else, there's no way in hell I'm giving up!"

Everyone knew Leah was far superior to Clara in every way, and she was the mother of their two kids. So why couldn't her own son see that?

Seeing that his mother was about to go on another rant, Emmett grabbed his keys off the table and made a beeline for the door.

Sophia tried to catch up with him but was a second too late. All she could do was shout after him, "Listen here; there's no way I'm letting Clara back into this house! Not unless I'm six feet under. And I swear, I won't let her anywhere near Aiden and Alex!"

Emmett acted like he hadn't heard a thing and drove off.

He was beat those past few days. He'd planned to go home and feel Clara's presence, but his mother wouldn't stop nagging him.

His cell phone on the passenger seat rang. It was his secretary. He picked it up right away.

"Any news?"

"Nothing on Clara... But we've made arrangements to bring Clara's father back to the country, as you instructed. Should we postpone it?"

Emmett frowned. "Bring him back."

"Alright, I understand. Also, Mr. Melendez, you need to take care of yourself. Eat something. Where are you? I can have something sent over."
