"We've got one Mom, yet Granny is always trying to throw us a new one. It ticks me off. Can't I vent a little? Bro, are you cool with Granny bringing us a new mom?"
Aiden walked over, grabbed Alex's hand, and said, "No way, dude. I've got a mom. I don't need another woman. But your tantrums aren't solving anything."
"Oh..."
"I miss Mom too, man. I'm not missing her any less than you are. But we're too young to do anything about it."
"You've got to think about not causing trouble for Mom and Dad. Granny never liked our mom. If we act up, she's going to dislike Mom even more!"
Alex pouted and nodded, not fully understanding, "Alright... As long as you can get me to see Mom, I won't rat out to Granny."
"Just do your homework like usual; don't let granny catch on."
"Do we have a plan?"
"I'll go to Granny now and tell her I want some snacks to get her out of the way. Then I'll go check out our route. If I'm not around, you can't tell anyone about our plan or Mom’s secret, got it? If you do, I'm never talking to you again!"
Alex nodded, and while wiping his tears, he said, "Okay! Can we bring two pieces of candy when we run away from home?"
Aiden was exasperated, wondering what was going on in his little brother's head.
One moment, he was crying because he missed Mom. The next, he was thinking about candy when planning to run away.
"Alright, alright, I'll give you my two pieces of candy; just don't cause any trouble!"
"I won't cause trouble. If I get candy and Mom, I'll be happy!"
Aiden looked at his little brother and chuckled, and his expression was just like Emmett's.
Clara put down the slippers and nodded, "Yes, you can come with me. I won't go out, just walk around the yard. Staying inside all the time makes me feel suffocated and a bit uncomfortable. That’s not too much to ask, right?"
"No problem! As long as you're willing to stay here, I'm down to accompany you to explore this villa."
Elio extended his hand.
Clara hesitated, didn't take his hand, but smiled and walked out first.
Elio stood behind her with a bittersweet smile on his face. He didn't say anything, just followed her out to the courtyard.
This was Clara's first time here.
Whenever Elio returned home before, he stayed in the Milburn family's villa. She had never heard that Elio had a house like this...
