Aiden shot back immediately, with a hint of reprimand in his voice, "We've come this far, and you're thinking about bailing now? Think about it, we're getting closer to Mom. Do you really want to turn back? Alex, pull yourself together! We just need to push a little further, and we'll be able to find a car!"

"…Okay." Alex struggled to his feet, continuing to follow Aiden.

Finally, a black car pulled up alongside them. The window lowered, and a middle-aged man smiled at them.

"Are you two lost?"

Aiden instinctively shielded Alex behind him, whispering, "Sir, can you take us to the Melendez Group?"

"The Melendez Group? What are you two doing there at this hour?"

"Our dad is there!" Alex blurted out from behind.

The man's eyes widened slightly, but he chuckled as he said, "Well, hop in then, I'll give you a lift. It's dangerous outside at this hour!"

Aiden hesitated, but seeing how tired Alex was, he swallowed his suspicions and bowed politely, "Thank you! We'll pay for the ride!"

"Don't worry about it, just get in!"

Clara dreamed that she was kidnapped and put on a truck! The ride was bumpy, and her body swayed with the motion...

Suddenly, Clara's eyes flew open!

Confused for a moment, she got up quickly.

"No, you're not moving me because Leah is close. It's because Emmett found out where you're hiding me, right?"

Clara wasn't stupid; she figured if it was just Leah, he wouldn't make her unconscious before moving!

He was probably worried she might leave a clue for Emmett, so he decided to knock her out until the next day, giving them free rein.
