"You're always fussing over trivial stuff! If you're so worried, just tell them no more kids! Why create problems out of nothing? Can't you see how much Emmett digs Clara?"

Patrick was not getting involved in this chaotic mess. It wasn't because he was thick or didn't understand the difference between a birth mother and a stepmother.

He just reckoned that as long as everyone was happy in the current situation, it should be left as is. He believed his son wasn't clueless.

If Clara really was up to no good, his son would sniff it out.

And with all their time spent together, if there were any nasty intentions, Emmett would pick up on it!
