"Alex is so unreliable! But I still want my mom. What should I do?" Aiden glanced at his phone and then at the butler. Suddenly, he waved his hand and called the butler over. "Go tell my dad that I'm sick, really seriously sick!"

The butler was somewhat shocked. "But didn't you just say everything was fine?"

"Just do as I say! Go now!"

"Yes, sir!"

Emmett spent the morning in a meeting. By the time he stepped out of the conference room, it was nearly one o'clock in the afternoon. Returning to his office, Clara had already set the meal on the table in the lounge.

"Mr. Melendez, please have your meal."

"You haven't eaten either, right? Let's eat together."

"No need! You're the CEO, and I'm the secretary. If other employees see us eating together, there will be rumors."

Emmett glanced at her and said, "Once we're married, it won't be something we can hide."

"So, you don't need to worry about that."

After Emmett finished speaking, he headed towards the lounge, with Clara following behind.

"Mr. Melendez, our current cooperation with Luminate Co. seems to be going well. However, we have some issues with the new architectural designs for the real estate development."

"Let's not talk about work during the meal."

Clara quickly swallowed the rest of her words. "Alright, then I'll go out first."

Maybe she hadn't been sleeping well recently, which was clouding her mind! How could Emmett possibly like her!

There were so many women who wanted to marry Emmett. Those tall and perfectly beautiful women made Clara's heart flutter, but Emmett heartlessly turned them away!

"Have you figured out how to deal with my father yet?"

"I haven't thought about that," it was a sudden piece of news for her.

"Well, if my father asks about your child, just say the child's father has passed away."

Clara nodded. "Alright, I understand."

"Additionally, this is the list of additional compensations I'm giving you."
