But she didn't see any way out of that. So, she just had to play the waiting game and look for the right time to act.
Emmett was already by the staircase when he suddenly turned around and looked at Clara with a cold voice.
"Take her phone and all her communication devices. No using any of those! Let everyone know that if anyone dares to lend her a phone, they’re on their own!"
Clara was taken aback, "Emmett, you can't take my phone. I promise I won't call Elio, okay?"
"Haha, you think I'd still trust you?" Emmett laughed coldly, "In my eyes, you're no different than the Melendez family's dog!"
Clara was silent.
After saying that, he vanished from Clara's sight, not giving her any chance to argue, as if even hearing her talk was annoying!
Soon, Clara was taken to the floor where the servants lived.
The butler specifically put her in the farthest room, mocking her as he left, "Since you're living in the servant's room now, don't think you're still Mrs. Melendez! I just saw that the laundry room is short-staffed. You can go there after you change into the servant's uniform, or else, no dinner for you!"
After saying that, the butler turned and left. Clara quickly spoke up, "Wait, can I have some paper and a pen?"x
"Why? You want to write a letter?"
Clara quickly shook her head, "No, I just...want to kill some time."
The butler scoffed, "Kill time? Don't worry, once you move into the servant's room, you won't have any free time. You'll be too busy to even sleep! If you have any other demands, I can have you working 24/7!"
