Leah recoiled instinctively, and her face twisted in disgust.
However, realizing that Sophia was still there, she quickly mustered her courage and wiped his hands with a tissue. "Um...excuse me for a second; I need to use the restroom."
Leah threw the tissue away and stood up to leave.
Alex deliberately pouted. "Grandma, does she not like me?"
"Of course not! She probably just needs to use the restroom herself. Come on, let's eat." Sophia quickly chimed in.
Alex nodded, then gave Aiden a meaningful look.
The latter helplessly rubbed his forehead. Only Alex could pull off something like this; even if he wanted to get back at Leah, he wouldn't stoop this low.
In the restroom.
"Damn kid! I'll have you all kicked out of the Melendez family one day!"
Leah was fervently washing her hands over and over again.
But the image of Alex touching his dirty pants kept popping up in her mind. It was absolutely revolting!
When in her life had she ever been so humiliated? This was all because she had to be nice to that little brat!
Leah looked at herself in the mirror as her hands clenched into fists.
No!
"I have to bear with it! I can't be defeated at this stage!"
...
As night fell.
Clara couldn't find Leah anywhere and was getting worried.
Had something changed?
"I heard you're looking for Leah." Rose appeared from nowhere and patted Clara on the shoulder from behind.
Clara turned around. "Yeah, I'm looking for her. Have you seen her?"
"Can you find a way to approach Leah? And ask her to come to the servant's quarters to find me."
Rose nodded and agreed readily. "Sure. I can handle that."
"Thank you." Clara glanced out of the corner of her eye, realizing that that must be their car.
Whether she could escape or not depended on tonight. She hoped Leah wouldn't back out.
The car stopped, and as soon as the door was opened, Leah got out.
Alex deliberately spoke up. "Leah, why are you leaving so soon? I wanted you to play with me for a while longer!"
Leah paused, turned, and smiled. "I'm a bit tired today. I want to rest in my room."
"Can you rest in my room then? I want to watch you sleep."
Alex smiled innocently. His thoughts were inscrutable.
Sophia, however, was pleased to see this. "Go ahead. It's not often a child likes you this much."
