Leah was utterly speechless.

They really knew her weak spot. As soon as the word 'grandma' was mentioned, she was rendered helpless and could only nod in agreement.

Seeing her hesitation, Alex simply clung to her leg, "If you really want to leave, I won't stop you. Could you drop me off in Grandma's room on your way out? I'll just sleep with her."

Leah narrowed her eyes, "Are you two little devils planning to blackmail me again? Don't think I don't know what you're up to!"

But Alex played innocent so convincingly, his face the very picture of childlike innocence, "I don't know what you're talking about. Can you explain to me why you always feel like we're threatening you? Why would we do such a thing?"

His question truly stumped Leah!

"Ms. Calloway, Grandma actually wanted us to spend more time with you, but if you don't want to, we won't force you to stay here." Aiden tried to mediate, "Grandma told us that you're going to be our new mom and asked Alex to accept you, to forget about the one before. At first, we weren't agreeable to it because we liked Clara as our mom, but we didn't want to upset Grandma or seem ungrateful, so we said yes. But it seems you don't really like us, do you? If that's the case, there's no need to force ourselves on each other. Go ahead and leave, Alex, let her through."

Alex, however, didn't budge.

"I think she likes us, don't you, Aiden? You must have misunderstood. She doesn't mean that!"

Upon hearing this, Leah found herself unable to get angry or lose her temper. She didn't know what to say and could only grit her teeth and nod.

"Yes! I really, really like you guys! How could I not like you?"

"Then you'll sleep with me, right? And sing me a lullaby. That's something a mom should be able to do. Clara used to do that for me."

"Clara did that too?" Leah raised an eyebrow.

"Yes!"

If Clara could do it, so could she!
