"I didn't, I really didn't!" Clara raised her hands in defense, "We've been together the entire time, I had no chance to see anyone else. Ricardo just got here because he had to work."

"Ms Parrott, you need to chill!" Ricardo hurriedly said, "We can sit down and talk, do you want to see Mr Melendez? I can call him for you right now."

"Don't you play innocent!"

"Ms Parrott, Mr Melendez is really busy! But surely, you don't need to act like this, right?" Ricardo tried to stall for time.

Clara seized the opportunity, "You're waving that knife at me, it looks like you're going to hurt me! Can we just calm down and talk?"

"Yes!" Ricardo quickly grabbed a chair from the side, "Ms Parrott, have a seat! I'll get you a cup of coffee. Mr. Melendez will be here soon, threatening a secretary doesn't do you any good, you should talk to Mr Melendez."

"Didn't she marry Emmett?"

"That's a sham! Mr. Melendez was pushed into marriage, so he found a female secretary to have a fake marriage!"

Upon hearing this, Clara raised an eyebrow.

If it wasn't for Ricardo subtly winking at her, she would have thought Ricardo knew the truth!

"So you mean... you didn't actually marry Emmett?"

Clara quickly nodded, her eyes filled with sincerity.

"Yes! I'm just a pawn Mr Melendez uses to appease his elders! There's nothing between the CEO and me, I'm telling the truth! I didn't lie to you!"

Hearing this, Molly Parrott's attitude softened a bit.

Seeing her relax a little, Ricardo quickly pushed her down and grabbed her knife.

"I'll go find security!" Clara immediately said.

Ricardo frowned, "I don't know where they are! You call the police!"

Getting married was a last resort for her, she was living in fear every day!

Clara suddenly realized, marrying Emmett was a dangerous thing!

Wasn't her life in danger here?

Emmett glanced at Molly Parrott, frowning, "She's a lunatic."

"Yes! She really is a lunatic!" Clara rubbed her wrist, "She slapped me as soon as she came in! Mr Melendez, are all the women who like you like this?"

If there were more like her, she wasn't sure if she could live to old age!
