"What?"
"Your mom is really worried about you; could you go and comfort her? You little rascal, think about your mom more often. Her life is pretty tough and while raising you, she’s had a lot of people gossip behind her back. But she never abandoned you and raised you so well. You must always respect and cherish her!" Elio took Alex's hand, "Promise me that you’ll never make your mom sad."
Alex paused, then nodded seriously.
"Good! I'll remember the promise I made with Mr. Milburn today."
"Good boy, now go soothe your mom!"
Just as Elio got up to take Alex to Clara's room, his phone rang.
"You go see your mom first. I have to take a call."
"Okay!"
Alex scampered off to find his mom, while Elio, holding his phone, stepped out of the game room to answer it.
"Mom...What's up?"
"I heard from the bodyguard, Rob, that woman is here?"
Elio glanced at Rob standing guard at the door and said helplessly, "Mom, why are you spying on me? I'm grown; I know what I'm doing."
"You're the ones forcing me not to be with Clara, not me forcing you to cut ties! You're the ones who started to obstruct us because of some non-existent reputation issues, making me miss out on a great woman like Clara. How can I agree? I don't agree, and you're forcing me, what can I do?" Elio massaged his temple, "You don't understand Clara now, once you meet her and understand her, you'll like her too!"
"But she's been divorced! Son, you could find a better woman!"
"I don't think anyone can be better than Clara. I think she's the best!" Elio glanced at Clara's room door and smiled, "I don't think I could be interested in any other woman now. I only like her."
"Are you willing to offend the Melendez family for her?"
"If it really comes to that, I am."
