Ethan chuckled. “None of the others hold a candle to this. This is the only place worth my personal attention.”
A wave of warmth spread through Arabella’s chest. “Thank you, Ethan. I know you’re doing all this for my sake.”
“But you have to believe that I can really handle things on my own,” Arabella said earnestly.
Seeing her resolute expression, Ethan finally conceded. “Alright, I’ll step back from the day–to–day operations here. But if anything serious comes up, you must tell me.”
“Okay, if it’s something I truly can’t manage, I’ll definitely call for your help,” Arabella replied with a grateful smile.
Ethan’s gaze softened. “That’s a promise.”
“Mm.” Arabella nodded.
Just then, her phone rang.
“Hello,” Arabella answered after a quick glance at Ethan.
“Just as we suspected, the person behind the technician is a man named Justin. He was the one giving orders and applying pressure. The technician felt he had no way out,” Colton explained.
“Is the evidence conclusive?” Arabella asked.
Colton replied, “The digital trail is solid. The only complication is that the technician is currently insisting on taking sole responsibility.”
“Arrange for someone to speak with him. Tell him I will ensure his mother receives proper medical care if he is willing to tell the full truth,” Arabella said, her voice cool and decisive.
“Understood,” Colton acknowledged.
After hanging up, Arabella let out a soft, cold huff. “I knew there was more to it.”
She had always felt that Jacob’s sudden, desperate actions, even under duress, didn’t quite add up.
After all, he was just a mid–level technician. How could he have executed such a plan so smoothly and staged the evidence so convincingly? Such a calculated scheme pointed to outside guidance.
“Is there another issue?” Ethan asked gently, sensing there might be further complications.
Arabella briefly summarized her findings for Ethan.
“Justin! It’s him again!” Ethan’s expression turned icy. “It seems our previous…. resolution with him was too gentle.”
Arabella said calmly, “If life on the outside has been too comfortable for him, then it’s time he faced the proper consequences.”
“About what you just mentioned… Do you think he’ll agree to cooperate?” Ethan asked.
Arabella’s eyes grew cold. “If his devotion to his mother is genuine and he was truly coerced because of her medical bills, then he should agree.”

If, however, this was all an elaborate act to manipulate sympathy, she would show him no mercy either.
“Mm, you’re handling it correctly,” Ethan said, his eyes filled with pride.
This was his sister!
Her method of dealing with problems truly made him proud, and he felt honored to know her!

“By the way, who was that on the phone earlier? How were they able to investigate so thoroughly?” Ethan inquired. And without formal authorization, how could they access internal company matters so quickly?
Arabella stiffened almost imperceptibly. In her eagerness to get answers, she had taken the call without stepping away. Thinking quickly, she replied, “A private investigator. I hired him to look into some background details.”
“I see,” Ethan said, accepting her explanation without further question.
Arabella breathed an inward sigh of relief, grateful he didn’t press the matter.
“Since the situation is under control, let me treat you to lunch. Consider it a reward for your efficient handling of the crisis,” Ethan offered with a smile.
Arabella agreed happily. “I’d love that!”
“In that case, I’m going for the full feast experience,” Arabella said, her eyes sparkling playfully.
Ethan laughed. “A feast it is!”
Chatting and laughing, the two left the company and headed to a nearby upscale restaurant.
“Ethan, you mentioned at breakfast you were evaluating a project today. How did the preliminary look go?” Arabella asked.
“My initial impression was positive, but I had to cut the meeting short before a deep dive,” Ethan replied.
Arabella nodded. “I trust your judgment completely. If you think it has potential, then it definitely does.”
Ethan laughed heartily. “Alright then, I’ll give it a thorough evaluation later.”
“Evaluating what?” A voice interjected beside them. They both looked up.
“Mr. Stewart!” they said in unison, both looking surprised.
Matthew’s tone was calm. “Mind if I join you?”
