She stopped arguing with them and turned to leave. She wasn’t worried about them running

away.

She wasn’t truly short on supplies, nor did she enjoy making life hard for them.

Brittany had crossed her, and then her brothers showed up to get revenge. It was annoying. Very annoying.

And there were so many people watching in secret.

If she didn’t act tough and make these people hurt a little, showing the onlookers how ruthless she could be, someone else would come knocking tomorrow.

The sandstorm still hadn’t ended. She wanted a few quiet days to feed the panda cubs and live peacefully.

Once Caroline left, the brothers finally breathed again.

“Charlton, I think…” Lester said to the eldest brother, lowering his voice. “We should talk to Brittany. This whole mess started because of her. Alaric is capable. Maybe he can figure something out. We might even find a way to wipe the debt clean.”

After talking it over, they all agreed.

There was the only way.

The three of them went back to Brittany’s place once again.

What happened after that had nothing to do with Caroline. She didn’t care about this.

She was tired. This whole mess drained her more than fighting a real battle.

The cubs didn’t need feeding for now, so she went to take a shower.

She had no idea what those two were up to.

During the second argument earlier, Nelson had poked his head out, but she waved him back inside.

Tyler and Denton were different. Their door never opened at all.

She shrugged it off. They were probably off doing some kind of training again.

After a long, comfortable shower, Caroline stepped out.

When she came out, she saw Jet standing in the crib. His little belly pushed forward and he lifted his head high. The parrot stood there without saying a word.

Next to him, Raven stared at Jet with a look of pure contempt.

Jet’s expression made Caroline laugh. She walked over and teased him. “What’s going on with you?”

Jet still didn’t speak. He just puffed his chest out even more.

The bird was showing how proud he was of his achievement.

Raven’s look of disdain deepened.

Caroline thought for a second, then burst out laughing. She reached out and gently stroked Jet’s neck. “Jet is amazing,” she said warmly. “Jet is so handsome. You’re the coolest, strongest grey parrot in the whole universe!”

As she spoke, she pulled out a few pine nuts to feed him. It was Jet’s favorite.
