A beam shot out of the creature’s eyes like a laser, and hit the ground right by Kay’s feet.

After that, it was minutes of one–sided attacks.

Caroline and the others could only dodge.

The ground hit by the laser got burning hot. Dirt flew everywhere. With the wind abilities mixed in, the dirt turned into red–hot balls and slammed toward them.

After burning through every copied ability a few times, Caroline couldn’t use Tyler’s ability anymore.

She switched through a few abilities and realized Tyler’s was still the best.

After all these fights, she also figured out a perfect way to deal with this mutant, but she needed Tyler’s ability to hide inside metal to make it work.

Just as they reached their breaking point, a flying knife suddenly shot out from the side, straight at the mutant’s third eye!

The power and the aim were perfect.

Everyone turned around in shock and saw a man covered in silver metal walking slowly through the sandstorm.

A smile flashed in Caroline’s eyes. Her plan could finally work. This mutant was done for.

‘Caroline, I’m here.” Tyler’s deep voice cut through the wind, reaching everyone perfectly.

Tyler had arrived.

Two hours later, the mutant was a bloody mess.

During those two hours, Caroline copied Tyler’s ability again. With both of them using metal abilities, they attacked the creature from both sides.

In the earlier fight, Caroline realized that even though the thing seemed invincible, its belly was actually its weak spot.

The problem was its thick limbs and whip–like tail. Every time they tried to attack, it blocked them before they could reach its belly.

With Tyler here, everything changed.

Caroline threw several steel bars onto the ground and lured the creature to step on them.

Tyler hid inside the steel bars and attacked from below.

Caroline stayed on top to keep the monster distracted.

Yeah. With a massive tornado like that, no one knew if the cafeteria even still existed.

That line completely shut Francis up. Based on what he knew about Nathaniel, the cafeteria was probably already abandoned- saving people came first.

Even Raven looked at Francis with judgey eyes. Do two–legged creatures get dumber when they’re flirting? Awkward!

Just as Caroline stepped forward to collect the body, the sand around them suddenly sank!

“Watch out!” Tyler yelled as he leaped out from the steel plates and grabbed Caroline.
