Chapter 651 Doing Nothing
They searched the area a few more times, but they couldn’t find the creature’s body.
They noticed that everything else was starting to get back to normal, except for the sandstorm.
They could walk through the sand again, and they could finally see further than a few feet.
Francis pulled out a military drone and launched it. It zoomed through the thick dust and headed high into the sky.
The feed showed that all the tornadoes that had attacked the base were gone.
Everything at the base was finally quiet.
They hopped on their mounts to head back. Tyler and Caroline shared a ride on Raven.
Soon, they reached the gate of the base. This time, nothing was messing with their sense of direction.
“Looks like that thing’s dead. Its power scattered and turned into this sandstorm.”
Tyler guessed, frowning.
And he was right.

After that, the military sent out search teams many times. Nothing strange happened again. Only the sandstorm remained, raging through Hornhale.
At least it stopped spreading.
The army predicted that once the leftover energy from the mutant creature fully faded, the sandstorm would disappear, too.
For now, they could only keep living inside the sandstorm.
Poor Hornvale. While other cities only had to deal with the great heat, Hornvale had to fight both the heat and a sandstorm.
The base moved on to the rebuilding phase.
After Caroline returned to the base, she made a big decision–she was going to slack off for a few days.
Yes, she just wanted to do nothing!
She felt like she was cursed or something because she hadn’t stopped moving lately.
If she wasn’t fighting one thing, she was fighting another.
If it wasn’t a natural disaster, it was ability users or mutant animals.
It got so bad that when she looked in the mirror, she felt like she looked a few years older–but that’s just her imagination. Her skin was still perfect, and she looked as young and beautiful as ever.
As for soaking in the healing spring, Nelson told her she had to wait a few days.
That worked out perfectly with her plan to be lazy, because Nelson was busy with something else–dealing with Shane.

Chapter 651 Doing Nothing
The moment Shane entered the space, his mind completely blanked out
He felt like a fish finding its dream pond.
420 Free Coins
He ran around the space naked every day, teasing the golden python one minute and bothering Jasper the next. He was full of energy. His fatal wounds healed completely in just two hours. After that, he did nothing but cause chaos.
Nelson decided to use this time to study Shane. He wanted to see if he could talk with Shane and maybe get more clues about that
man.
After everything that happened, it looked like that man pulled every string.
Caroline later figured it out, too–why the mutant creature’s body disappeared, and why its energy spread out and turned into a never–ending sandstorm. It was because that man didn’t want her to get the orange energy.
Just like before, when he had handed the cyan energy to Caroline on purpose.
When Caroline entered the space again, she felt like Jasper looked balder than before.
His eyes were full of complaints. “Caroline, can you throw those two humans out? They’re so annoying! Argh!”
Caroline rubbed Jasper on the head. “Hang in there. I’ll give you great reviews this month and next month, okay?” Jasper’s eyes lit up. “Don’t worry! I feel revived! Forget two days, even if they stay for two months, I’m willing!”
After the mutant animal died, the base’s communications returned to normal.
Kay immediately contacted her front–line commander.
To her surprise, the commander had already received a request from Francis.
Hornvale’s base had suffered heavy damage and was short on manpower for reconstruction and civilian protection. He asked to temporarily transfer Kay.
The commander had heard about Hornvale’s situation. He waved his hand and agreed. Sure! Just send her back after you guys have a kid!
The thing was, what he’d heard was gossip about Francis crazily chasing after front–line soldier Kay.
That gossip about Kay was everywhere on the front line.
But Kay herself knew nothing about this.
After things finally settled down, Caroline collapsed onto her bed that night. Raven was in her left arm, two little pandas in her right, and a fat parrot stood proudly on the headboard. Her mission for the next week had officially begun–doing nothing.
