Wait…Why Did Everyone I Love Suddenly Call Me a Bitch?! novel Chapter 44

Chapter 5

“Luna! I’ll fucking kill you!”

But before my hand could reach Luna’s face, I was kicked to the ground.

Cain shielded her, his eyes dark:

“Vera, you forced me to do this.”

“Luna didn’t mean it. Your mom’s dead anyway-just a worthless pile of ash. Was it worth attacking Luna over?”

“You already hurt her once. I won’t let you touch her again! Since you still haven’t learned, looks like you’re going overseas for another three years.”

“Perfect timing-the client wants to attend my wedding before leaving to make sure we’re legit. Luna will have to be the bride instead. Consider it compensation for her.”

“Don’t worry, when you come back reformed, I’ll marry you properly.”

I let out a contemptuous laugh.

What made Cain think I’d still want to marry him?

Men like him-when they’re beneath you, they’ll grovel and pledge loyalty to climb the ladder.

He even knelt before my mother, swearing to protect and care for me forever.

Now that he’s second-in-command at Hart Industries, his pride matters more than anything.

Like right now-my laughter pissed him off, so he impatiently called his men:

“Get Vera out of the country immediately. Same facility as before!”

“Tell their supervisor their methods weren’t effective enough. Amp it up. In three years, I want to see a completely transformed Vera!”

If Cain wanted to break me through torture, Luna and her mother wanted me dead.

Those men had already been bought off. They dragged me to some wasteland.

Margaret was waiting.

She strutted over and lifted my chin with her sharp nails:

“Well, well, little bitch. Surprised you survived. Even with orders from both Cain and me and Luna, those animals couldn’t finish you off.”

“Because of your constant interference, your father could only give me a courthouse wedding-no ceremony. You and your dead whore mother are so fucking stupid, thinking being the first wife meant something. In the end, my daughter and I played you both!”

She then video-called Luna, muting the sound on our end.

Luna, who’d been claiming blindness, was rolling around in bed with Cain:

“Cain, now that Vera’s gone, I don’t have to pretend to be blind at our wedding, right? It’s so exhausting.”

“Of course not, my bride can do whatever she wants. We’ll just say your eyesight came back.”

Chapter 5

“Making you fake blindness was just an excuse to get rid of Vera legally. I couldn’t stand her acting so superior all the time, constantly reminding me that everything I have came from her.”

“Even though your dad and I had her mother killed in that car accident to get the company, if she stayed strong, she might’ve taken my position eventually. Women should stay home and serve their husbands. Hopefully she’ll learn this time.”

Lightning struck my brain. I couldn’t process it.

Mom’s accident wasn’t random-Cain and Richard orchestrated it?

“Now you get it, little bitch? You and your mommy were just stepping stones.”

Margaret had her men pin me down while she pulled out a knife, grinning:

“Wondering why I’m telling you all this? Luna said you can never come back to fight for the position of Mrs. Sterling. This time, you fucking die!”

Stepping stones?

I suddenly remembered why I promoted Cain from groundskeeper’s son to my bodyguard.

Richard’s affair broke Mom’s heart, and he showered all his love on Luna instead.

He forgot my birthdays, didn’t know my favorite foods, never carried me on his shoulders to watch fireworks like other fathers.

It was Cain who saved his allowance to buy me gifts, nervously tugging at his clothes because he worried they were too cheap.

He burned his hands making me elaborate meals, took me to mountaintops to see shooting stars, and wished:

“I hope the young miss stays happy forever, and that madam stays healthy.”

I couldn’t tell if he changed along the way or planned this from the beginning.

Maybe wolves are just wolves. You can’t tame them.

Watching Margaret raise her knife, I sighed deeply, my voice frighteningly cold:

“Kill everyone except her.”

In seconds, the men collapsed in pools of blood.

Margaret screamed as her knife-wielding hand was severed at the wrist.

Xander shoved the severed hand into her mouth, turning to me furiously:

“Boss, are we really letting that bastard have his wedding?”

I pulled the nails from my body one by one, laughing softly:

“Of course. I already picked the perfect venue. Can’t let that preparation go to waste.”

“Luna thinks she’s a princess-her biggest dream is a castle wedding. Have our people recommend that place. Price it low-he’ll want to spoil his sweetheart.”

As expected, Cain spent three hundred million buying that overseas castle as Luna’s wedding gift.

Luna even posted ten Instagram updates about it.

Cain was hailed as the ultimate devoted husband.

Chapter 5

On their wedding day, the officiant had him declare his love and call out his bride.

Holding flowers, he knelt and called out passionately.

“Luna, my treasure, will you marry me?!”

The pre-decorated swing slowly descended.

But Luna wasn’t on it.

Instead, Margaret hung there covered in blood, wearing a wedding dress.

She was tied to the swing, missing one hand.

And I gripped the cable with one hand, my foot on her head.

Pointing my gun at Cain’s heart, I smiled:

“Hello, darling. Welcome to hell.”
