Chapter 6
Everyone was stunned by the scene.
Margaret spotted Richard in the crowd and screamed:
“Honey, save me! Vera’s lost it! She cut off my hand and kidnapped our Luna!”
I pistol-whipped her head:
“Shut up!”
Richard was shaking with rage, pointing at me:
“So it was you who texted me from your stepmother’s phone, saying to come early to help set up the wedding! You animal, how could you do this to your own mother and sister?!”
Sometimes I get annoyed.
Even though I can’t wait for him to drop dead, hitting your own father doesn’t look good.
But it’s fine-someone else can do it for me.
Xander walked up to Richard and punched him:
“Don’t you dare disrespect the Boss! The Boss’s mother isn’t that homewrecker!”
A wasted alcoholic like Richard couldn’t take a mercenary’s punch-he was out cold immediately.
Cain laughed bitterly at the scene:
“Well, well, Vera. I had no idea you had other men willing to fight for you besides me.”
“I sent you overseas to learn some manners, and you escaped and kidnapped Luna? Where is she?”
“Hand her over and go where you belong. In three years I’ll still marry you. You think just because you’ve got this thug, I can’t handle you both?”
I shot him in the kneecap:
“You talk too much. Try me.”
Cain hadn’t expected me to actually shoot. He grunted and dropped to one knee.
His face darkened as he clapped his hands.
But none of his men appeared.
The castle doors were sealed shut, with dozens of armed foreigners in camouflage guarding every exit.
Ready to turn anyone who moved into Swiss cheese.
Seeing Cain’s frozen expression, I burst out laughing:
“Mr. Sterling, stop waiting. Your boys are all drugged unconscious right now. Nobody leaves here today without my say-so.”

“Don’t worry, everyone. I don’t kill innocents, but today’s Mr. Sterling’s big day. I want you all to watch a good show.”
“Cain, you want your bride? I’ll help you find her.”
I turned a decorative lamp fixture on the wall, and the floor in the center split apart.
A minute later, stone steps were revealed.
I led the way down.
Under the mercenaries’ guns, everyone else had to follow.
They were speechless at what they saw.
It looked like a Roman colosseum, with torture devices lining the walls.
In the center below, Luna was caged.
A dozen figures with no unmarked flesh, faces unrecognizable, looking like movie zombies surrounded her cage, desperately trying to reach her.
Their expressions were crazed, like she was some delicacy.
Luna, scared out of her mind, looked up and saw Cain:
“Cain, get me out of here!”
“These people are insane! I’ll never wear lavender perfume again, never again in my life!”
Cain glared at me furiously:
“Vera, what have you become? How could you team up with these monsters?!”
“And this is the villa I bought for Luna-even I didn’t know about this underground chamber. How do you know about it?!”
I lounged in my chair, laughing softly:
“I lived in this place for three years. I built it myself, so of course I know about it.”
“Cain, you think these are monsters? But aren’t they all the people you sent to teach me manners?”
“Oh right, forgot to mention-I never escaped. This castle is the same facility, just renovated.”
