Rowan suddenly went berserk. “You have no right to touch my property! You can’t do this to me!”

She lunged for the laptop, screaming like a banshee.

But I caught her and slammed her against the wall.

“And what right did you have to frame me?! Rowan, the bill is due. I know exactly what you did.”

“It’s back,” Jacob said.

He sounded stunned by what he saw.

I grabbed the phone and scrolled.

My blood turned to molten lead.

Rowan’s knees gave out. She collapsed to the floor like a deflated balloon.

I shoved the screen an inch from her nose.

“Let’s see you lie your way out of this. Yesterday, you messaged Skylar. You told her I slept with her husband.”

“Today, you messaged the CEO. You told her I was in bed with her husband.”

“An hour ago, you messaged Isaac. You told him I was a cheating whore.”

“Rowan, the hell did you do this to me?!”

Skylar thought I was screwing her husband-that’s why she cut me off.

The Chairperson thought I was having an affair with the VP-that’s why I was fired.

I looked at Isaac, my voice trembling with rage. “And you… you didn’t even ask me. You just bought her lies. Was it just because of that ‘smell’

on me?”

Isaac’s pupils dilated. The realization hit him like a truck.

“I wanted to believe you,” he stammered. “I thought it was just rumors. But then I got close to you… and you smelled like sex! It was nauseating!”

Isaac took a deep breath.

He clenched his fists, still trying to justify his lack of trust.

“I didn’t want to spell it out. I wanted to save us both the humiliation. But look at you! You’re covered in that scent, yet you’re standing here

acting like a victim? Just get out!”

“Even if Rowan sent the message, she was just being a ‘good friend.’ She was doing the right thing! Someone like you doesn’t deserve her loyalty.”

I let out a sharp, bitter laugh.

Even now, with the evidence in front of him, Isaac was still defending Rowan. He’d rather trust a snake than his own girlfriend.

I pulled the perfume bottle from my bag and started spraying it into the air.

In an instant, everyone in the room began to gag and grimace.

My “friends” started scoffing. “You’re a real freak, Wren. Who the hell makes a perfume that smells like ‘dirty sex”?”

I looked at Rowan and shattered the bottle against her shoulder.

“This perfume was a ‘gift’ from Rowan. I have chronic sinus issues, I can’t smell a damn thing. Rowan knew that. She gave me this disgusting scent, told me it suited my ‘aura,’ and begged me to wear it to the wedding. And the second I put it on, she messaged Skylar and told her I

smelled like her husband’s bed.”

“I lost my best friend, my job, and my dignity-all because of your little science project. Rowan, give me one reason why I shouldn’t destroy you

right now!”

If it hadn’t been for that car accident-the shock of the blood and the adrenaline finally clearing my blocked senses-I would have smelled like

that “dirty secret” forever.

I would have gone to my grave never knowing why the world turned its back on me.

I had asked a few people what the smell was.

They’d all said it was a “manly scent.” The polite term for “sex.”

That’s when I realized just how deep Rowan’s depravity went.
