Chapter 33 Falcon Corps’ Plan
“If she still doesn’t get it, send her out to lure beasts. That girl’s speed is close to a Level 2 Speed Ability User. She should be more efficient than a Level 1 Speed Ability User.”
“Got it, Captain Donovan.” The woman nodded, walked out, and quietly closed the door.
“Hey, what were our total casualties yesterday? Are the numbers in yet?” Caleb asked.
The middle-aged man behind the desk slid over a report. “See for yourself.”
Caleb picked it up and glanced at it. His brows tightened. “31 dead, 23 seriously injured? Why so many?
Zachary Donovan lit a cigarette and took a drag. “Thunder Corps lost more. Over 50, I think.”
“Damn…” Caleb continued, “What about the private teams and the civilians?”
Zachary exhaled smoke. “Aside from our two corps, 392 people died. Injuries not included.”
“That many?” Caleb suddenly felt a lot better.
Zachary snorted. “They have way more people. Our whole unit is just over 500. Excluding Thunder Corps. those civilian groups are over ten times our size. Only losing 300-something-how is that a lot?”
Caleb suddenly got it. He slammed the table and cursed, “Bunch of useless idiots! If we weren’t protecting them, would they even still be alive? And they’ve used up all the camp’s resources. We should just kick them out and let the beasts deal with them!”
“Enough. Don’t break the table again.”
Seeing his younger brother blow up, Zachary waved him off. “Instead of yelling here, go search their rooms. Those civilian groups are hogging resources but can’t defend the camp. Might as well take everything back and put it to better use.”
“Fine! I’ll go check right now! Damn it! Our injured don’t even have medicine, while those idiots hoard everything! This time, I’m cleaning up Camp 98!”
Caleb stormed out.
“Wait,” Zachary called.
“What now?” Caleb turned back.
“Send a team outside the camp to hunt high-level mutant beasts. Bring the bodies back and have that new kid purify them.”
Caleb smacked his forehead and grinned. “Almost forgot. I’ll get a team together.”
Then he left.

Chapter 33 Falcon Corps’ Plan
Reina held up her smartwatch and complained to the magpie, “Hey, you broke my stuff. How are you gonna
pay for it? Or should you call your brothers and sisters over and let me pet them?”
The magpie drooped its head, looking guilty.
When the human kept talking nonstop, it just tucked its head under its wings.
Reina found it kind of funny and lowered her guard a bit…
“Why are you hiding? Why not go find your family?”
She carefully reached out and touched the magpie’s back. This time, it didn’t dodge.
So she pulled it closer, rubbing its head, considering keeping it as a pet.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
The magpie chirped and jumped, instantly flying back to the window.
Reina looked down at her finger. The magpie’s sharp tail feathers had sliced her skin, and she was bleeding.
“Who is it?” she asked, annoyed, as she opened the door.
Three well-equipped mercenaries stood outside-one pretty woman and two men.
She didn’t recognize any of them.
Reina frowned. “What do you want?”
The pretty woman smiled and introduced herself. “We’re from Falcon Mercenary Corps. My name is Ruby Larsen. These two are my teammates. We’d like to talk with you.”
Reina looked them over. She had a weird feeling like someone was watching her.
But aside from them, no one else was there.
“Come in.” It wasn’t right to leave them standing outside, and she didn’t want to completely offend Falcon Corps either. Plus, she wanted to know what they were after.
“Thank you,” the woman said gently, her tone warm and friendly.
Reina walked in first.
Luckily, she had already taken out her backpack and sleeping bag from the beast hide pouch. Otherwise, the empty room would’ve looked suspicious.
There was only one wooden stool in the room, so she offered it to her guests.
Who got to sit was none of her concern.
In the end, Ruby sat down and smiled. “We just want to know how you’re feeling about joining us. Some things are hard to explain over a call. It’s easier face-to-face.”
