Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 127

Seren turned her head.

Not far away stood a tall, striking man, his posture confident and upright. He couldn't have been more than thirty, his features fair and handsome—almost boyish, if not for the arrogance written plainly across his face.

His light gray shirt was crisp and ironed to perfection, not a wrinkle in sight, tucked neatly into tailored black slacks that emphasized his long legs.

He radiated the kind of smug self-assurance that made it clear he'd never really had to work for anything.

It was unmistakably Sheridan.

Seren had always imagined that if she saw Sheridan again, she'd be overwhelmed with emotion—maybe hurt, maybe angry, maybe even sad. But as she looked at him now, she was surprised to feel none of that.

Her heart was perfectly calm, as if she were looking at a stranger.

And not just any stranger, but the kind you'd rather not run into.

Almost involuntarily, she glanced sideways at Lennon.

She couldn't help comparing the two men.

It was obvious who she preferred.

The first thing you noticed about Lennon was his steady, mature presence. Everything about him radiated a quiet strength, the kind that made you feel safe just standing next to him.

Sheridan had rehearsed what he would say all the way here. He was ready to swallow his pride, apologize to Seren, and gently coax her back to The Golden Age.

He'd even practiced his apology in the mirror that morning.

But as soon as he reached the studio entrance, he saw Seren standing with another man, chatting quietly—almost intimately.

It was like a thunderclap inside his head.

He felt as if someone had broken into his private collection and was about to walk off with a treasure he'd guarded for three years.

Jealousy and rage surged through him, completely overwhelming his self-control.

"Seren, you're coming with me!"

He strode up, reaching out to grab her hand.

Seren slipped easily out of his grasp, putting a step of distance between them.

Sheridan's hand hovered awkwardly in the air.

She used to be so gentle, so obedient; she'd always done whatever he said. Now, not only was she ignoring him, but her expression made it obvious—she didn't even want to see him.

As if just being in his presence was an inconvenience.

Lennon pressed his lips together, shooting Sheridan a glance—sharp, but restrained. His fists clenched at his sides, but he kept his silence.

After all, this was Seren's business. To interfere would be to disrespect her.
