Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 200

Lennon rarely wore white shirts. In all the time she'd known him, this was the first time she could remember seeing him in one.

He tucked the crisp white shirt into a pair of dark trousers, the look making him seem even more striking—confident, poised, impossibly attractive.

For a moment, Seren found herself lost in thought.

Clearly, her taste hadn't changed at all; white shirts still held the same allure as they always had—especially when Lennon was the one wearing them.

He looked every bit the gentleman, refined and elegant.

By the time Lennon fastened the last button on his shirt, Seren snapped out of her reverie.

"You know," she said, "you actually look really good in white. I don't remember you wearing white shirts very often, though. Is there a reason?"

Lennon glanced over at her, his voice low and calm. "It's not that I dislike them. I usually just wear whatever the staff sets out for me in the morning. For a while, it was mostly white shirts, but these past few years, not so much."

He was twenty-eight now.

There's a certain age, he thought, for every style of clothing. The all-white look belonged to a younger man.

"But if Mrs. Crestwell prefers white shirts, I can certainly start wearing them more often."

Seren shook her head, a small smile on her lips. "It's not that I like them more than anything else. You just look good in white, that's all."

She hesitated, then, almost unwillingly, added, "But honestly, you look even better in black."

If she was being honest, Seren much preferred Lennon in black. People always said clothes make the man—white was youthful, clean, sharp. Black, though—black brought out the quiet confidence and maturity that Lennon had grown into.

Lennon finished fastening his cufflinks and smiled.

"White or black, it makes no difference to me. From now on, Mrs. Crestwell can decide what I wear. After all, everything I put on is for her to see."

He said it while looking right at her.
