Watching You Burn In Regret novel Chapter 84

There was no need to guess—it had to be another call from the Powers family.

Honestly, the Powers family really didn't know when to quit.

Seren was about to hang up when a voice sounded at her side.

"Spam call again?"

She turned to find Lennon had appeared beside her without her noticing.

Seren shook her head. "No, it's from someone in Riverbend City. They've been calling with different numbers every day this week."

"I've made it perfectly clear to them, but they just won't let it go."

The matter involved the Powers family; it wasn't exactly pleasant to talk about. But hiding it would only create endless trouble for their marriage. Better to be upfront.

"Want me to talk to them?"

Seren hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Okay."

With his long arms and legs, Lennon took the phone from her hand.

Seren had no idea who was on the other end, nor could she make out their voice. All she heard was Lennon's calm, even tone.

"Seren is my wife now. Legally married. I'd appreciate it if you stopped harassing her."

"If Mr. Powers could finally give it a rest, maybe I'll send him a wedding invitation myself to thank him for stepping aside."

Seren couldn't help glancing up at Lennon, secretly amused. She hadn't expected him to have such a knack for infuriating people.

She could practically picture Sheridan Powers on the other end, seething with rage.

"And if you can't manage that, I won't hesitate to have my attorney get in touch with you."

His last words rang out with steady authority, a quiet strength that brooked no argument.

Seren found herself staring at Lennon, momentarily lost in thought. Until now, he'd always been gentle and warm with her—she'd never seen this side of him.

"Mrs. Crestwell?"

Lennon's voice brought her back to herself.

"It's taken care of. If he keeps calling, let me know and I'll have my lawyer handle it."

Seren didn't care about the details; all she needed was the outcome. She nodded. "Alright."
