What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 44

Kaia looked at her daughter's flushed, happy little face in the picture.

She dialed his number immediately. Finnian picked up almost right away.

"You know her condition. She shouldn't be doing any intense activities or going on wild rides. Bring her back right now. I'll wait for you at home," Kaia reminded him, her voice stern.

"Brynlee is doing great. Don't worry so much," Finnian replied, his tone cooling slightly.

"I am her mother. I know her condition better than anyone," Kaia fired back. "Where are you? I'm coming to get her."

"Kaia..." Finnian sounded annoyed now. "I just wanted our daughter to have some fun. There's no need to blow this out of proportion."

"Where are you?" Kaia didn't want to argue with him.

"I'll bring her home shortly," Finnian said, and hung up.

At the amusement park!

Brynlee had just gotten off the miniature train. Noelle was wearing a bunny ear headband, her long hair cascading down her back, and a light purple sundress swaying gently in the breeze.

"Wow, little girl, your mom is so pretty," a staff member gushed, clearly stunned by Noelle's top-tier beauty.

The child's father was also a breathtakingly handsome man. With genetics like that, it was no wonder the little girl was so adorable.

"She..." Brynlee started to correct them, but Noelle gently scooped her into her arms. "Brynlee, want to go on another ride?"

"Yeah! Can we ride the carousel?" Because Brynlee rarely got to go to places like this, she was thrilled today and wanted to try every single ride.

"Of course. I will ride the same horse with you," Noelle agreed, her voice soft and tender.

"Thank you, Aunt Noelle," Brynlee said, as polite as she was happy.

Noelle took her little hand and walked toward the carousel.

Just as Finnian returned, Noelle asked, "Who was on the phone?"
